I would expect that line-up to score more than one goal against U21 opposition.

Good grief. Jones, Connolly, Grant, Ledson, Williams, Byrne and Henen. What's going on Unsy? Are we making 45 passes before we try a shot on goal? Something's wrong somewhere. These lads are going backwards.

I see only Galloway has made the England U21 squad.... not good signs.

Also Stones and Garbutt David. They wanted Barkley but he's staying with the senior squad.

Dave (2) .. that doesn't surprise me. I was at the mini-derby and Holgate was our standout player by a distance which in itself was worrying as that was his first game.

I hought little Liam Walsh played well too in the mini-derby but I see he was an unused sub for the next outing.

Harold... as this was the first time I'd watched the U21s, I can't comment if they were going backwards or not... Holgate aside, it wasn't impressive.

Harold, Unsy was the ultimate hoofballer, although had many other admirable qualities. I find it difficult to imagine him coaching the Martinez philosophy.

Brian. The academy are all supposed to be playing the same style as the main squad and Dennis Lawrence keeps a close eye on all the groups. Those quickest to adapt are accelerated.

Must say, Holgate looks a real Unsy type and definitely one for the future.
