Where is Idrissa Gueye?
Is Idrissa Gueye actually coming back to Goodison? I can not find any reference to how supposed negotiations are proceeding. Is this a red herring or what?

Wait, is it still a No 6 if he plays in a 3-5-2? Let's call it a CDM.

Also, PSG want rid, so it is really a Catch-22 situation for Gana Gueye. Forego the severance payment and move on, or return to PSG and sit on your arse and do nothing!!

Perhaps we weren't prepared to pay the asking price or wanted him on the never-never?

Joking... c'mon, you know I am.

I still would like to see us sign Gueye.

But who knows what will happen, the next few days.
Now to beat Villa.

Until the player's actually wearing the shirt, I tend to take everything with a sizable grain of salt.

PSG are demanding ٧M... lol. Why should anyone cough up so much money for a soon-to-be 33-year-old geezer!?

This is Everton after all.
The thing that has concerned me is that this has been running for a few weeks now so we either want him or we don't or he wants to come or he doesn't.
Red herrings like "He is waiting for his visa" and "He is just negotiating his payoff from PSG" are just bullshit.
I suspected that, after we got Onana and discovered Calvert-Lewin's injury, we realized the cupboard might be getting a bit bare and put his move on hold. He may then have decided to stay put and get the windfall of his last €5M this season and then go to MLS for an easy life next season.
Pity because he would have slotted straight in and knows the club so well.

36 games last season no injuries as a defensive midfielder. 24 the season before, 17 as a DM. Was banned for 3 months due to the Mali team doctor giving him and another team member some anti-altitude-sickness medication, which contained a banned substance. Tribunal ruled it was not the players' fault but they must take responsibility for what substances enter the body.
This could be one of those moves that comes off when it seems most unlikely.

In my opinion, it's nothing to do with Everton; he wants the money he's losing in the last year of his contract. Leave him there.

Now I think Everton have to give Gana a deadline and say if you cant get agreement over this dispute by next Wednesday then the club will have no alternative to walk away and look elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if Everton haven't already put a timescale on getting this done.

Whether that's in time to be eligible to face Villa remains to be seen, of course...
