Everton have produced a Fan Engagement Report to document their implementation of the Premier League Fan Engagement Structure during the past season 2023-24, primarily through the work of the Fan Advisory Board.

Colin Chong, Everton's Interim CEO, wrote this in his Statement at the front of the report:

"While 2023-24 was eventful for matters on and off the pitch, in relation to the FAB it was a season of progress in which the importance of the FAB as a truly independent voice of the fans was solidified.

We are proud to have an independent Fan Advisory Board and, as a group, they have been able to effectively utilise their links into the football club at executive levels.

I had the pleasure of being in attendance either in person or virtually at all the formal Club/FAB meetings during the season and the FAB has consistently challenged and supported their Club in good measure.

The FAB has maintained important dialogue with the Club and key fan groups, which is an important part of their function. FAB members have communicated to me and colleagues at the Club their appreciation for the openness and honesty provided in response to questions they have put to myself and my Club colleagues, and the discussions in meetings have always been well mannered and well chaired."

I got about half-way through the 34-page report, looking for some nuggets of inspiration...

Away Game Stewards is about the only thing I could find that was news to me.

So it's compulsory.

Did he just rehash the dreadful Denisie-Barrett-Baxendale drivel?

I take nothing from anything that is club or FAB accredited.

The club lie and the board are despised toothless tigers. Meaningless.

If I had the time and inclination I'd love to be in on this.

Ten minutes tops and security would be frog-marching me out amid club officials screeching :

"How dare you!? Accountability and Professionalism is our middle name!!! … Middle names!!! And yes, we do know which way sis up!!"

Can't stand token projects.

Good work by Dave and the FAB team. There were always going to be teething problems; they seem engaged at the right levels of the club.

I'll reiterate, for those next at Goodison, visit the Everton Heritage Society in St Luke's.
