Please Help Find Madeleine

Little Blue Lost still missing

Four year-old Madeleine McCann from Rothley in Leicestershire — an Evertonian through family in Liverpool — has been missing since 3rd May after being snatched from a holiday resort apartment in the Portuguese Algarve.

While the local authorities pursue leads behind a media blackout mandated by Portuguese law, the McCann family are doing all they can to keep the story of their daughter's abduction in the spotlight as cynicism of the media and public reaction back in Britain threatens to diminish public support for Madeleine's plight.

What can I do?

On a practical level, donate to the "fighting fund" set up to aid in the search. ToffeeWeb briefly took donations to help international readers donate online. Those funds were transferred to the Madeleine Fund's new PayPal account on Sunday, 20th May.

If you want to make a financial contribution and haven't yet done so, you can do so at www.findmadeleine.com

If you are holidaying in Portugal, Spain, North Africa or anywhere in Western Europe in the coming weeks or are based on the Continent, talk about it with people you meet and simply be on the lookout.

Madeleine has a disctinctive "black flash" in her right eye where her pupil runs into her iris which her family hopes will aid in her identification. (See photo, below)

A shot in the dark, maybe, but one look at an innocent child in her Everton jersey is enough to make you want to do anything you can, no matter how insignificant it might seem.

If you have any information about Madeleine's whereabouts, you can call the international number for Crime stoppers: +44 1883 731 336.

A "fighting fund" to aid in the search and help the McCann family with escalating legal costs has been set up via www.findmadeleine.com. The website has details of how you can make a donation to this not-for-profit fund, either by cheque or online to a dedicated bank account.

We've duplicated the fund details below in case the website is down to due to enormous traffic. Note that some banks' online payment forms won't accept the full title of fund as stated on the website. As long as the account number and sort code are correct, it doesn't matter if you abbreviate it.
