• 14' Marcus Bent with Everton's first real attack - ball came in from the left wing, his header over the bar.
• 17' Gary Naysmith with a free kick 25yds out, just right of goal, on target forcing the Burnley keeper to push the ball over the bar.
• 18' 1 - 0 Robbie Blake Right side of the 18yd area from a deep cross, well taken shot Wright had no chance.
• 22' Bent has half a chance. Runs from midfield at the defenders having been put through by Kevin Campbell. Got himself into a scoring position. Keeper stood his ground and made lift difficult for Bent. He made the save look easy.
• 43' Kilbane crossing the ball from the left. Bent standing on the penalty spot, his header didn't have much direction on it and went well over.

Half time: Burnley 1 - 0 Everton

• 45' On Ferguson, Chadwick, Osman, Pistone, Weir. Off went Hibbert, Campbell, Bent, Stubbs, Watson.
• 71' On Clarke. Off McFadden.
• 73' First Everton action of the half falls to Leon Osman who shots from 20yds out, on target, but again the Burnley keeper able to deal with it.
• 75' Alexander Pistone deep cross from the left.  Kilbane just on the edge of the box, hits a shot first time, only to be denied by a Burnley defender who blocked the shot with his body.
• 82' Another Pistone pin point cross from the left, this time Osman just on the 6yd line, possibly with more time than he thought, hits the shot only to see it get knocked out for a corner.
• 83' 1-1 Joseph Yobo  From the resulting corner, Naysmith finds the 6yd area and Yobos head.
• 85' We all thought Chadwick had scored the winner. Once again, denied by the linesman waving his flag.
• 90' Cross from the left Osman with a bullet header and the Burnley keeper on the floor, somehow grabs hold of the ball.

If we had played the whole 90 mins like the last 8 mins, it would have been a half decent game however, as we all know football is played for the full 90mins. So, we are off to the airport and Houston. Full time score: Burnley 1 - Everton 1
