Season › 2011-12 › News Everton vow action against missile-throwers Lyndon Lloyd , 3 October, 18comments | Jump to most recent Everton have vowed to take action against any fan identified with video evidence who threw projectiles aimed at Liverpool players in Saturday's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park. Craig Bellamy and Luis Suarez both complained of having a bottle and coins respectively thrown at them as they took second-half corners in a controversial encounter between the two clubs. Tempers ran high among Evertonians after Jack Rodwell was sent off by Martin Atkinson for a perfectly legal challenge in the 22nd minute, a setback from which the Blues were unable to recover. Everton FC, however, have condemned the actions of a handful of supporters who took matters into their own hands as "totally unacceptable." "We are fully aware of the incidents which occurred during Saturday's derby game," Director of Communications, Ian Ross, is quoted on the Club's Official site as saying. "We are currently working with Merseyside Police on collating and analysing all available CCTV footage of the incidents. "If we can identify any supporter who threw anything - and we mean anything - on to the pitch on Saturday we will take immediate firm and far-reaching action. "This behaviour is totally unacceptable and will be rightly condemned by all right-thinking Evertonians — and that is 99.9 per cent of our fan base."
