Looking for a quality striker

David Moyes is looking to bring in a forward of genuine pedigree who can immediately improve the team but he feels a temporary loan deal may be the only way he can do that.

He said: ?We need somebody of real quality and someone like that is going to cost a lot of money. Bringing in someone who is going to make a big difference is the hard bit.

?January is a short burst. The agents ring you up and the names you get are ridiculous. Some are well past their best or far too much money or not at the level we require. But you take the calls and you decide.

?In the past we have tended to look at the loan market and that is what we will probably do again in this window.

?The idea is that you have done your homework and you have been scouting and watching the games, so if anything comes up we have good reports on the players,? he said.

?And we do have a very good scouting network. We work hard to try and be prepared so that when the time comes we are in a good position when it comes to doing some business.?
