Getting match tickets

by   |   12/09/2025  31 Comments  [Jump to last]

Hi everyone,

It's gotten a lot more complicated (and expensive!) getting tickets, it seems but I'd value some input. I was a season ticket holder in the 90s and 00s but I now live in Sweden. My 10-year-old has never been to a game and I'd love to get to one this season at the new stadium. I don't want to book flights etc and then end up with no match ticket. I also don't want to end up buying from the zillion unofficial resellers that are around.

I understand that me and my son will need Forever Blue+ membership to get priority general release and/or season ticket holders resales – is that right? Are any tickets making it to general sale? It's steep paying about £100 for Forever Blue+ membership just to be able to then buy a match ticket. Any tips greatfully received.

It used to be so easy to make a nice gesture to fellow Evertonians, to just give them your ticket but, they have made it so much harder now.

I've heard there are ways around it but being a person who wants to live within every single rule, then it's sad when you see so many empty seats, that could have been used by others.

Money, every last penny counts, there is so much legalised touting being taken advantage of by a lot of football clubs nowadays, and it's heartbreaking when you realise how hard it has become to help out fellow supporters, for a man from the dark ages, like myself.

Good luck Benjamin, I hope you find a solution to your problem without it costing you loads of money, mate

Hi Benjamin, as it's a one-off trip, your best bet is to buy premium via Seat Unique, they are the official premium ticket partner of the club.

The tickets are approx £150 each but they are guaranteed and seats will be together. You do not need to be a member to purchase these and avoid potential disappointment of missing out in the Membership ballot.

I went this route for yesterday's game as I was traveling from Ireland with 2 others, our tickets cost £125 each - a 'free' programme, £10 food voucher and 10% off in the club shop are included in the price. Not cheap but it was our only option.

Just be mindful of games moving for TV and or opposition involved in European competitions. Here's a link to purchase for the remaining matches this season.

Hello Benjamin.

I'm in a similar position, not being able to get the match very much these days. I am looking at the Fulham match on 8 November as earliest.

There are six of us in my family who are itching to see the new ground. I am thinking of buying the Forever Blue memberships (times six!!).

Maybe we'll need the plus version to be sure. I just don't know. It would be great if any kind ToffeeWebber could enlighten me a bit.

Good luck with your Quest for tickets

Be careful with these tickets though. I bought 2 tickets to the Trinity restaurant through Unique for £329 each, the people next to us paid £540 each, so dynamic pricing.

The whole experience was fantastic though and the meal was top notch, not at all what we were expecting.

£65 for foreverblue+ plus the actual cost of the ticket - per person, plus jumping through all their internet hoops... and the chance of not getting a ticket.

I offer no guarantees but I used an agency... well in advance it has to be said) and they worked for me.

Cost per ticket for upper north was £190 (£65 - actual cost of ticket)

@Michael Kenrick am I allowed to name names?

Tony @ 1; as stated above, back in June when the fixtures came out and knowing nothing about seat unique I used an agency.

When the 2 tickets finally arrived (phew, not scammed) I just forwarded the email to the wife's NFC capable phone, she clicked on one box marked 'view ticket' and on my phone I clicked on the other.

And 2 technophobe pensioners waltzed in.

I am a Forever Blue+ member and have twice entered the ballot for seats (two requested, myself and my wife, another FB+ member).

On neither time have I been successful.

I simply wouldn't pay those prices. I'd rather not go.

It's each to their own as we adjust to the new stadium. The new membership scheme scheme has worked for some, not so for others. Personally I don't think thr prices are too far off competing clubs.

My son did okay for Brighton. He has Membership + and "won" a ticket in the Upper South for £72.

Benjamin

If Beto keeps being selected the resale prices are bound to drop.

Has anyone used the resale portal? I've no idea how many tickets are put up on average.

I'm only back twice a year from Asia, so got a Forever Blue+ and entered the ballot for Palace - luckily I was successful, but I'd been watching the hospitality prices as a fall-back.

Would be interesting to know how many memberships there are etc. but I guess the club won't release such info due to the dynamic pricing of the resellers.

My experience was slightly different.
Having missed the Villa ballot and then seeing the sold out signs, I was resigned to waiting for my first visit to the stadium.
On Thursday I was online and on the off chance clicked on 'Buy Tickets' on the web site.
I am a Forever Blue member. Logged in, was offered one seat in the South Stand and jumped at it.
(Row 61. If you get there, bring crampons and a rope!)

I also entered the ballot for the Palace game and have been successful, this time even higher, row 63!

As for giving a ticket to a relative. This can be done by forwarding the confirmation and having them open this on their phone. They then save the ticket to their Google Wallet or iPhone equivalent.

The forever Blue + is a bit of a con in my eyes.
I've entered in four Ballots and the only one I got a ticket in was for the 25,000 test event.
I've paid £65, an increase of £30 on last season, and seem to have less chance of a ticket.
I was lucky to attend the Brighton game using a friends ST but at that game noticed at least 3 banks of empty seats - about 20 in each bank - on the West Stand. I couldn't see behind me in the East stand - there may have been more.
I only usually look for one ticket but saw on TPF quite a few had "won" 4 tickets in the ballot.
I DO understand that we need the income that corporate seats can generate but surely there must be a way of releasing those seats if they aren't taken up for a game?
I've got a ticket for the Palace game in the Village Street, which tbf, at £176 for the package, I'm quite happy with, but I cant afford that every game and I'm between 4500 and 5000 on the ST waiting list.
Oh, and now I come to think of it, I haven't received my Membership goody box yet. Has anyone else??

Barry Mc, many thanks for the tip and the link. If I come over in January as hoped, I'll definitely use that method. If one doesn't care about the cost (which I don't, since I'm spending so much on air tix anyway) it seems like the most reliable way to go.

No problem Mike.

Mark, as far as I know there is no 'free' merch this season - thankfully as I had to pay customs charges last season!

Mike Gaynes, when in Jan are you coming over and which game(s) are you hoping to see?

Chris, I’m hoping for the first week in January to catch the Bees and wolves home games. Will try to catch a Marine game as well.

Very uncertain right now due to a family situation, but I might get lucky.

Yes I used seat unique so I can say I was at the first competitive fixture at the new ground.

Wolves is currently £90. How much is a normal ticket - minimum £65. So this is £25 premium. Free Programme = £4 so now £21 premium. £10 food and drink voucher so now £11 premium. 10% off in the store so genuine N'diaye shirt = £110 so £11 discount meaning now break even.

And that means buy anything more in the shop, go on the stadium tour, and you are up on the deal as well as being guaranteed to get a ticket.

See you there?

We paid an arm and a leg to get a ticket for the Brighton game. Ended up in the Village Street and got chatting to lots of season ticket holders in that area that had committed for 3 years but couldn’t really afford it or couldn’t make every game.

Long story short, we’re now constantly being offered tickets at roughly face value (about £138). That includes all you can drink, food, pre-match entertainment and the chance to meet Everton Legends ™ (met Sheedy, Stubbs, Mountfield already, plus chatted with Tony Bellew and briefly met Pickford!)

Not cheap I know, but when you think that you can literally have unlimited beer or wine, you get some scran and a match programme, it looks pretty good value. If you drink 8+ pints then you’re probably up on the deal! 🤣

I reckon we’ll get to go to at least 50% of our home PL games this season, all because of the contacts we made at the first game.

Forever Blue - £35 - has some advantages.

It gives you any official membership number, and so allows season ticket holders who are unable to attend to transfer their ticket to you. A bit like lending your old season card to a mate.

Barry (23) Other way round.

I've transferred my ticket for the West Ham game (bloody Monday night football) to my sister, who has a Forever Blue account

Bit late to the party, but friends traveling from abroad have used Sports Breaks. Gives you a guaranteed match ticket and an overnight stay in a city centre hotel. No need for membership.

The Fulham game on 8 November is currently £388 for two people.

Hi guys. So, Seat Unique is genuine?

I pop home from Australia once a year and always try and get a ticket. Are they safe to purchase with?

Three of us purchased Seat Unique tickets for Monday night, for the corner location, but have been upgraded at no charge to Trinity Bar. This us our first visit to the new stadium, cant wait.

We used to have 3 STs in Upper Bullens a while back, so a great reunion for us, just hoping Moyes is past his experiments!

Hi Benjamin,

It's a nightmare - and the situation is equally as frustrating on the other end of this.

I am a season ticket holder and I live in Seville. I'll get back as many times as I can for the game.

But when I can't...

The club offer me 46 quid per ticket if it goes on the resale, and that pro-rata'd rate is something I had received pretty smoothly in the past seasons at Goodison - in the event that no mates or family members were able to go.

I put my ticket for last night's game up one week early - simply because I couldn't give it to my mates.

The old "meet my Dad at the Dixie statue" days are over - I had to knock back 4 or 5 mates and friends of my brother who wanted to go but couldn't be sent the ticket.

The automated club message on the Forward to a Friend option read: "Unfortunately the person you are trying to send this ticket to is not eligible to accept them... they do not have the correct permission".

Meaning they have a Customer Number but hadn't given £65 for the Forever Blue+, or whatever they need.

And the physical season card option being denied us without just medical reason for not being able to use the phone has left me snookered.

For future games, if anyone on here does have the correct permissions to receive a ticket, gimme a shout.
