Duffy was recalled from a loan spell at Scunthorpe when Phil Jagielka was injured against Bolton almost a fortnight ago and was then called into his first senior action for over two years when Sylvain Distin tweaked a hamstring at Tottenham a week later. He made his full Premier League debut with an accomplished display at Aston Villa this weekend and now he hopes he can convince his manager that he is good enough to deputise full time until Jagielka or Distin are fit again. ?Hopefully I have tried to save Everton money and we will see what [the manager] says. I will just try and do my best for the club. It is up to him and if it is not what he is thinking I will just have to work harder. ?It is a good squad. We just have a few injuries but the manager believes. He trusts me and he gives me confidence. You can't ask for a better manager to be honest and I am glad I have got the chance.?
