When 'Live TV' is not so live...

A section of evertontv users experienced some technical difficulties during the first stream of pre-season football from Tannadice on Thursday evening and the Club's technology provider has apologised for any inconvenience caused to viewers.
All those users who informed the Club they were experiencing issues will be contacted today, with assurances that the problem that caused the disruption in service was an isolated one and will not be repeated for the remaining five live games.

Everton's digital media services supplier Rippleffect explained: "Due to unprecedented traffic levels, there were some fans who experienced a disrupted service during last night's match.

"Rippleffect apologises to the Club and more importantly those fans who did encounter these issues and we are working closely with Everton and our partners to ensure that this is not repeated and that all fans have a great online experience for the rest of the pre-season.

"Alongside the Club we will work throughout the course of today to ensure that all complaints are dealt with promptly and appropriately."

I was able to watch the game from the 30th minute in the first half. It took 45 mins of me trying every option that was offered by the club and then some through Everton supporters on facebook. It is not the money that bothers me, it is just the fact that Everton's "award winning website" could not get it right.

Also, the last 15 mins were not good reception and a lot of those minutes it was hard to make out the ball and so I had to watch highlights from Lyndon's link to see the goal clearly.

They say it will be better service next game. So obviously a typical slow start and we will get it right towards the end of the pre-season, and only because Kenwright is working with all internet providers 24/7.

Please don't ask for any refunds or we will never sign Pienaar.

Andy Peers, thanks for one of those unexpected, dry witted sarcastic endings that always cause an outburst of involuntary laughter, that has the cat jumping up and running out of the room and anyone else in the house thinking I've lost it. After that humorous episode, my keyboard and monitor our now on Coffeeweb.

"Due to unprecedented traffic levels".

Well surely they knew exactly how many people would watch the game. Most purchases would have been made well before kick off.

I'll never again subscribe to this amateur nonsense.

The coverage against Dundee Utd wasn't great, but I've just had the most frustrating 90 mins of EvertonTV coverage I've ever experienced.

The second half (against Motherwell) in particular was completely destroyed. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Yeah it was shite as per usual.... stop-start... sound off then on... forward rewind — it's a joke!
But I'll be splashing out another 4 quid for the Indonesia game next week because I'm a fool.

Poor second half coverage..Stop - Start, then time rewinding..It was like deja vu. On Motherwells goal it stopped just before the ball entered the net, then came back on 20 seconds before with score still at one nil.

Amateur is the word to describe everything Everton do. It's embarassing.

"Due to unprecedented traffic levels".

That is the worst excuse a web company can make.

Rippleffect need their arses kicked. They have let down the club and the fans.

I thought it was my internet connection. My laptop nearly got threw at the wall, I missed the first 20 minutes on Thursday cos it wouldn't come on... then the debacle of the rewind stop-start today. They need to get their act together fast. £18 for a poor service.

I complained after the Dundee game because it didn't work and the 'support' was useless. I got the following reply.....

'Hi,

Can you please forward your email receipt and we will deal with your refund request.

Kind regards,
evertontv support'

I paid for the full package so I decided to give them another chance.
Today's game was almost unwatchable, constantly buffering stop/start shite!

I'll still try to watch the other games but doubt they'll sort themselves out, amateurs!

I had problems with the feed for the Motherwell game on Saturday, so decided to lodge a complaint and received the following apology:
Dear Evertonian,

We would like to apologise for the issues you experienced on evertontv during Saturday's live stream of the Motherwell pre-season friendly.

A key system failure by the Club's streaming partner resulted in the buffering difficulties you experienced.

The Club is conducting a thorough investigation into the system failure by the streaming partner and can confirm that you will receive a full refund for Saturday's game (£3.99).

Everton does not expect or accept service levels of this standard and as a loyal fan you certainly deserve better than what you received on Saturday. The streaming partner is one of the leaders in the field and has worked with other Premier League clubs and sporting bodies throughout Europe. However, on this occasion the service provided by that partner was unacceptable.

The Club sets incredibly high standards and expects to deliver the best possible service at all levels. What you experienced on evertontv on Saturday fell below those standards and Everton apologies wholeheartedly for that unacceptable level of service.

The system failure was completely separate to the issue that affected some users during Thursday's live Dundee United fixture.

Once again, please accept our sincere apologies. Your refund for Saturday's game will be processed without you needing to take any further action. If there are any issues with the refund process, we will contact you via email.

Kind Regards,
evertontv support

Praise where it's due – Well played, the Club!
