Mirallas happy with 'dream debut'

Kevin Mirallas reflected on an excellent home debut for Everton after his two goals and two assists helped the Blues ease into the third round of the Capital One Cup last night.

The Belgian followed up his 20-minute cameo at Villa Park on Saturday with a dominant performance up front for David Moyes's side last night and on the back of his contributions, Everton were 4-0 up on Leyton Orient by half time.

Mirallas, a £5.3m capture from Olympiacos earlier this month, missed the chance to complete his hat-trick when he scuffed a second-half chance wide but he was thrilled with his first start in a Royal Blue jersey.

"I really enjoyed it and could not be happier," he told evertontv. "It was a dream debut to score two goals and was a night I will remember.

"When you score twice you start thinking about scoring three or four but it certainly wasn't a night for frustration or being annoyed.

"I am very happy with how it went - it could not have gone much better."

He also pointed out that he has yet to reach full fitness and promised more for Evertonians as he finds his feet in the English game.

"That was only my fourth game, including my pre-season, so I am a long way from peak condition and there is a lot more to come from me.

"Training has been tough but I am getting there. I am not afraid of hard work.

"I am a hard worker myself and I know you need to put it in to get success."

Exciting lad. Hopefully, he will help us break in the top 4 this season. I can't be happier than our start. He's a good omen for the team.
