Gueye and Barkley set to start
Everton's Under-21s are playing Arsenal tonight at Barnet's Underhill l Stadium, Kick-off is 7 pm. For Everton, Magaye Gueye along with Luke Garbutt and Ross Barkley, but no sign of any of the latest additions to the club.

The central defence is inexperienced at Under-21 level, with Johan Hammar lining up alongside Matt Pennington.

Reserve regulars Shane Duffy and Apostolos Vellios are on international Under-21 duty with Ireland and Greece respectively, while Jake Bidwell is now on loan at Brentford.

Everton Squad: Taudul, Browning, Garbutt, Lundstram, Hammar, Pennington, Green, Barkley, Hope, Gueye, Kelly, Springthorpe, Forrester, Jones, Long, Touray.

I'd like to see the young lad Green break through in the next year or so.

Two reasons why our latest aquisitions aren't playing tonight:

1. Most of them are internationals so are away.
2. All except Matthew Kennedy (who falls into Category 1) are over 21.
Hope that helps.

Martin, not looked at this new initiative, but I thought you were allowed 3 over-age players, a la the mens team in the Olympics?

Talking of U-21s, I see Rodwell's pulled out of the England U-21s cause he injured again.

Don't think we've got 3 to spare unless Pip Neville, Anichebe and Ossie are available.
