Mucha quits international football

Jan Mucha has announced his decision to retire from international football at the age of just 29.

The Slovakian goalkeeper had made noises earlier this year that he might have to move on from Everton to keep his international hopes alive but has now decided not to remain in contention for his country.

Mucha has spent over two years as second string to Tim Howard but only made a handful of starts in the League Cup and remains firmly a back-up option to the American who retains a vice-like grip on the first-choice slot at Goodison Park.

Effectively, he quit ALL football the moment he signed on the dotted line for Everton..

An anagram of Stewart Downing is "twat on reds wing".

Danny Burke (714) I loved that. Even more appropriate than the one I noticed several months ago in an England game when Wancky Belend (Danny Welbeck) came on

I'm little puzzled why he has retired international football. Surely this was his only first team action he's had over the last few years. Must be nice to earn 10K+ a week and basically do nothing except train for a few hours a day.
