I voted Mirallas.... one percent, so close as well!! Pat Finegan 2 Posted 10/10/2012 at 19:28:56 I voted Mirallas as well. Fellaini has been immense but I didn't think he should have had it 2 months in a row. Brian Garside 3 Posted 10/10/2012 at 21:35:01 Quite clearly Bains was the man. Paul David 4 Posted 10/10/2012 at 21:35:03 I voted for Baines. I think Baines is a victim of his own success, we're so used to him being consistantly brilliant that I think he gets over looked in these polls. Pat Finegan 5 Posted 11/10/2012 at 01:20:59 If Baines played like Hibbert for a month, he'd be terrible. If Hibbert played like Baines for a month he'd be a shocking revelation and get voted player of the month. So the question isn't really, who was our best player this month? It's more like, who exceeded expectations by the largest margin? Same with player ratings. If a guy gets a 6 or 7 (depends who is rating) they did as expected. Higher rating and they did better than expected. You get the picture. If Hibbert's overall influence on a match equals that of Baines they'll never get the same rating because more is expected of one than the other. Ernie Baywood 6 Posted 11/10/2012 at 01:43:35 Surely the expectations of Fellaini were pretty high also?Baines was brilliant even by his own standards. I'd watch his games if he played for almost anyone else. Adam Fenlon 7 Posted 11/10/2012 at 01:44:05 Shame he's out of the running for an October three-peat already.... Pat Finegan 8 Posted 11/10/2012 at 02:19:51 Fellaini has been playing better than expected this season. Eventually, we'll get used to it and expect this level of performance out of him. Baines played better than normal which is why we're talking about him as player of the month. But what about, say, Pienaar. I think that if Magaye Gueye came on and played as well as Pienaar did in the last month, we'd be talking about the secret weapon for player of the month. Just my theory. Paul Olsen 9 Posted 11/10/2012 at 09:20:00 Voted Baines, he was superhuman in september. Fellaini a close second for me, so no grief.Mirallas looks good, but our best player in september? Don`t think so.Honorable mentions for Pienaar, Anichebe and Osman Ciarán McGlone 10 Posted 11/10/2012 at 12:38:02 Baines has been consistently good in every game, and is the league's most creative player, according to the stats...Not sure about this one at all. Dave White 11 Posted 12/10/2012 at 13:53:40 I voted for Anichebe actually, the boy has finally started looking like a player....shame he's a million miles behind Jelly Add Your Comments In order to post a comment, you need to be logged in as a registered user of the site. » Log in now Or Sign up as a ToffeeWeb Member — it's free, takes just a few minutes and will allow you to post your comments on articles and Talking Points submissions across the site.
