You would think that there are plenty of games which are geographically more fitting to show on a Monday night. Our fans, like Newcastle's when they came to Goodison this season, will have to lose time off work, and arrive home at silly O'clock, in order to follow the team they love.

The game as a whole may be reaping the benefits of Live TV broadcasts, but the average fan, who has been the lifeblood of the game, is treated with very little consideration. Hardly surprising, but surely fans deserve a little better treatment in these difficult economic times.

It's a tough one, as we have a lot of fans who travel from outside of Liverpool to games, home and away, so Monday evening games affect them anyway. (There's a healthy contingent who fly in and out from Dublin for games.)

You could argue that Southampton, as being the furthest away game, wouldn't be the worst one to "write off" to a Monday night. That and the fact we have a shitty record down there (and The Dell) in recent history.

Also the way the TV packages work, the Monday night package will often be the dregs of the weekend's fixtures, as there are up to 4 live games on a Saturday/Sunday to snaffle up any of the "attractive" ties. I believe the Monday package only gets a couple of "first dibs" during the season, whereas the Sunday 4pm and one of the Saturday fixtures get more, and hence cost more when bidding.

This is one of those things that you'd have thought could easily be written into Sky agreements without harming the overall quality of coverage. Surely it wouldn't be beyond the wit of schedulers to have to adhere to a rule that fixtures involving teams say over 200 miles apart could not be rescheduled for midday or evening kick offs. The fact that there is still no such understanding shows just how ineffective bodies like the FSA are. The TV companies continue to put two fingers up to the fans.

Hiya Steve... that would assume, though, that anyone involved in the administration of the EPL and those who control the broadcasting of football, give two tuppeny turds for the people who actually pay their hard earned to watch the game. Best wishes.

Matt, The Saints back line is more porous than my arse the morning after a ruby, so unless we are down to the bare bones, expect a new year toffee feast down at St Mary's. Confident, you betcha. I am so confident, that I think we may be in a league of our own when we have the usual new year upturn in form. The big caveat is needing to avoid key injuries of course. Lord, please keep Moyes' Boys safe and sound and in top form until End May at least. May peace be with you, and also with you. COYB. Amen.

Patrick #605 and people having problem with the schedule, why not complain and collect people's signed names that wants to reschedule it. It's easy for me to say, 'cause I'm a foreign follower, but it must be possible to do it? COYB.
