Mirallas has a chance of playing

David Moyes says Kevin Mirallas "will be given every chance" to face Fulham after the ankle injury inflicted by Luis Suarez in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

The Belgian had to be withdrawn at half time of last weekend's contentious game with Liverpool and while his manager says that the 24 year-old is "still not comfortable" with the injury, he could retain his place in the starting line-up at Craven Cottage tomorrow.

“Hopefully he's got a chance,” Moyes told reporters in his pre-match press conference. “His ankle's still sore but it's not quite as bad as we thought.

“He's not quite there yet but hopefully he'll have a chance for the game.”

So Mirallas possibly back for Fulham, good news. Apparently Gibson's injury is worse than first feared but will be back soon. Funny how you miss a player who created practically no excitement among fans (me included) on his arrival.

Anyone else curious to see more of Oviedo after the derby? The lad looks pacy and lively with a half decent cross too.

Funny how now we have depth for the wide areas we seem to be short in the middle after years of the reverse. Either way we need to beat Fulham tomorrow, especially with what looks a home banker for Spurs.

Hope Kevin is fit enough to start. Shame that Gibson's injury is looking more serious, when he comes back we will have a really strong team. As well as Neville has done, I think a fit Gibbo will make a big difference to our ball retention and also the protection the back four gets.

I would have Pienaar in the middle alongside Osman. Put Neville Right Back and Mirallas on the left.

I'm made up with Moyes's comments on the hoofball bollocks, I think he has really stepped up a level so far this season on a few issues – most notably having a bit more belief about how good we can be and how high we could finish.

Pienaar and Osman CM? Both forward thinking players, leaving a huge cap in the midfield as both bomb forward. Nah, not for me. Neville to hold with Ossie continuing with Peanuts down the left where he's at his and Baines most effective.

If we can just avoid conceding in the first 10 minutes then we'll probably win. Just keep some more men back on corners!
