Duo could return against Norwich

Gibson and Mirallas making good progress
Darron Gibson and Kevin Mirallas could both be fit enough to play against Norwich City tomorrow as the duo recover from thigh and hamstring injuries respectively. David Moyes made no promises, though, in his pre-match press conference saying that both players are doing "okay".

Gibson played a little over an hour for the U-21s earlier in the week after missing 10 weeks with a lingering tendon issue and could make a substitute appearance at least for the first team this weekend.

"He's coming on and doing okay," Moyes said of the Irishman. "He had a game for the Under-21s last week so he's making some progress."

Asked if he could play against the Canaries, Moyes said: "Possibly."

"We need everyone back," he continued, "but you've got to get them back at the right time and when you think they're ready."

If Moyes decides not to risk Gibson, Thomas Hitzlsperger could make his second start alongside Leon Osman.

Mirallas, meanwhile, missed the defeat at Reading last Saturday after pulling a hamstring a fortnight ago.

"He's doing okay as well," said Moyes. "He's making some improvement and time helps improve it. We'll be hoping that he'll be okay."

I'd be guessing that Mirallas will start – even if not fully fit – in Fellaini's absence. Gibson less likely with Hitzlsperger doing okay in there.

I've just watched the press conference.

I thought Moyes's comment about Rafa taking the Chelsea job was great.

What did he say Jamie?

He was asked if he was pleased to see Rafa back in English football.

He said " It's great for Rafa, he's got the chance to manage a really big club which are used winning things and competing at the top end of the league."

I'm not sure if it was a dig or not now I've just watched it back. I'd like to think it was.

Blimey, all we need now is Hibbert and we're back to full strength. Neville to RB until that happens?

...and I don't care he's injured at the moment!

According to the BBC, Hibbo could be back too (though sounds like maybe not from the press conference). Classic comment by Moyes – hope he did mean it in the way we're interpreting..!

Fergie's comment was equally as sharp, said Benitez was lucky.

Went on to say Benitez's CV could have 2 World Champions on it — neither of which were his sides; mentioned his 6 months at Inter as well.

Get in.

Get the feeling Benitez isn't too popoular with the others

Hope these two feature at some point. Could do with a solid win and both of them ready to start vs arsenal next week.

We need to tighten up the defense and for all our attacking prowess and vast number of shots the number of actual goals scored is pathetic.
