After 10 years at Everton FC, Victor Anichebe is finally finding his feet

Victor Anichebe has managed only 147 appearances in seven and a half seasons, but with five goals in 12 outings so far this term – and a renewed work ethic and self-belief – Moyes sees signs that the Nigerian international is ready to take responsibility for himself.

I never thought it would happen. Ever. Full credit to Moyes for seeing something in the guy that nobody else saw, and keeping him around when the rest of us couldn't figure out why.

Great. I see a window of opportunity. Now's the time to flog him to Stoke.

I think he's benefiting from getting more time on the park. He's still a long way from being the complete article (light years away, in fact) but maybe, just maybe he's starting to show enough to justify his standing as a 'Prem league player. He's obviously been working hard (I gave him my PotM vote) so good luck to the big lad, here's hoping he continues to improve!

I don't think he looks fitter at all, the last 10 mins of the Newcastle game he just stood there pointing were to pass the ball away from himself becasue he was goosed. I'm glad to see he's putting in the effort to be so tired but it is shocking for a proffessional footballer playing in the PL to be so out of breath for so long. I know he is a big lad but still shocking.

I think that is unfair Ian, I think the boy looked like he had concussion from the head collision with Neville towards the end of the match against Newcastle. Prior to that he looked fine, considering he was a second half sub.

He has improved this season over previous ones, mainly from what looks to be his attitude change. I haven't seen him sitting on the floor like a child in the last few matches he played, and it looks like its paying off.

Mike (#029) - I think when he first appeared a lot of us were quite excited about his prospects (one shoulder charge and 30 yard run to comprehensively beat the keeper seems to have lodged in my mind) but he rather quickly lost his way.

Hopefully he has now left his apparent petulance behind and will continue to be an asset to the team

When we had Vaughan and Anichebe plenty of fans thought we should keep Vaughan. I have always said that Anichebe is a better prospect.

Now its been proved!!

The lad will never have great ball control nor be a natural goal scorer, but he is a different option up front and he can also play wide. He lacked confidence in his earlier days and tended to sulk but he seems to have slimmed a bit and gained more pace and he is definitely an asset in the air.

He reminds me a lot of Shola Ameobi and is a fine alternative when things are not going well. If he could add more goals and better hold up play to his game, then he has the physical attributes to make good.

Not sure about that Trevor, I would still say Vaughan would have been a better prospect than Victor but he was probably the most unlucky or the most injury prone player I have ever known, Victor has been lucky to stay at Everton considering his contribution over the years. He could easily have been sold off like Vaughn

I don't think he could've done any more with his chances this season. I'll admit I've never been a fan but I'd have him in over Naismith, who only seems to be getting worse at the moment, every time.

Anichebe is a good player and we need to keep him.

Goals per minutes on pitch is good although I still feel he is more of a threat coming off the bench.
