Season › 2012-13 › News De Camargo seals Hoffenheim loan Lyndon Lloyd , 29 January, 14comments | Jump to most recent Updated After the player's agent announced that he and his client were in talks about a possible move from Borussia Moenchengladbach to Everton, Igor de Camargo has joined Hoffenheim on loan. The 29 year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at the Bundesliga side and reports in the Belgian media yesterday suggested will be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of €2.5m, although Everton were looking at a loan to start with. His agent Paul Stefani told Sky Sports that talks were ongoing with Fulham and Everton but interest from Hoffenheim and the chance to stay in Germany swayed him. "Nothing is decided," he said. "We have talked with Everton and also with Fulham, and we will talk again - but we do not know what will happen, there are other clubs too. "We have talked with teams in Germany also, and hopefully we will know more soon." Borussia general manager Max Eberl also confirmed that De Camargo is "discussing a transfer as he is no first-team regular at our club." He continued: "Lately we have been receiving several enquiries from clubs around Europe, I am able to confirm there is interest from Premiership clubs in his services." Disclaimer Keith Conchie 1 Posted 29/01/2013 at 15:26:26 He hasn't got a great goal to game ratio but his height and strength will provide good support for Jelavic. Just heard there might be a hitch with the Fer transfer. Something to do with the medical, hope it's not true. Dave Roberts 2 Posted 29/01/2013 at 15:32:57 Where did you hear that? Chris Keightley 3 Posted 29/01/2013 at 15:43:38 They would not leak anything about the medical to anyone or the result until concluded. Keith Conchie 5 Posted 29/01/2013 at 16:07:13 Heard it on twitter from @evertonarentwe. I think it was a load of shit to be honest as others on there have since stated it's all done and dusted. Dave Roberts 7 Posted 29/01/2013 at 16:13:09 Thanks for cheering me up! Richard Reeves 8 Posted 29/01/2013 at 16:21:10 I've just seen that interview with Moyes telling a reporter he would prefer to talk about Fer when we've signed him up and he's sitting next to Moyes. He did say he was still undergoing a medical but I also got the impression something was wrong; he did have the look of someone a bit sceptical... he's probably preparing himself to be shafted once more by the inept Kenwright. Si Cooper 9 Posted 29/01/2013 at 16:42:15 If big and strong are de Camargo's main strengths, then I'd prefer we look elsewhere as we have enough of them already.Low centre of gravity and pace would be better qualities to bring to the squad, giving another dimension to our attack. Harold Matthews 10 Posted 29/01/2013 at 16:52:07 Scary news on Leroy... I can't think about it Don't get the BK bit, Richard, but I'm sure you have your reasons.Yes Si. Your type of striker would also do for me. Also, with everything coming from the left I'd like him to be left-footed. In fact, for me, that is the most important factor.I can't settle until this Leroy business is sorted. Good grief, what's next?! Keith Conchie 11 Posted 29/01/2013 at 17:52:36 I would welcome someone who has pace myself, but I think he would fit in with Jelavic. We haven't got a lot of strength and height in attack tho, with Felli and sometimes Victor the only obvious ones, the rest are more small and lightweight. Jamie Sweet 12 Posted 29/01/2013 at 20:46:12 Is he any better than Straq? Daniel Lawrence 13 Posted 29/01/2013 at 22:19:15 Signed for Hoffenheim... Next! Ben Jones 14 Posted 29/01/2013 at 22:33:23 He's just gone to Hoffenheim so this one ain't happening. Christopher Kelly 16 Posted 30/01/2013 at 08:10:08 Si, agree completely. If we could loan a young, nimble striker to play of Jelli, we could start both and then have Felli behind. gibbo just behind him and Mirallas and Pienaar to the wings.Baines, Distin, Jags and Neville the back 4 and we're a top 4 team!! A STRIKER is really what we need to help the team get back to the right shape. Paul Ellam 17 Posted 30/01/2013 at 11:27:50 Phew! Glad he has gone elsewhere. Not impressed by his goalscoring ratio. We don't need another workhorse, we need someone to score goals!I would rather we used what money we have on one or more of the following(on loan if we must):- Vossen at GenkSzalai at MainzPerbet at MonsBen Yedder at ToulouseDiouf at HannoverBecchio at LeedsAll in good scoring form and wouldn't break the bank – hopefully!
