Season › 2012-13 › News Fellaini sits out training with hip pain Lyndon Lloyd , 4 February, 15comments | Jump to most recent Marouane Fellaini is a doubt for Belgium's game with Slovakia after the Mail report that he sat out of training today because of the lingering effects of the hip injury he sustained against Aston Villa. The Blues' two-goal saviour on Saturday received treatment for the injury after being clattered in a goalmouth melee early in the second half but not only finished the game, he scored the goals that rescued a point for Everton in the 3-3 draw. He may not now figure for his country this week and David Moyes will be hoping he will recover in time to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. Disclaimer Jeff Beaumont 1 Posted 04/02/2013 at 18:41:21 We pay his wages - tell him not to play any part in the midweek game Brian Murray 2 Posted 04/02/2013 at 21:14:20 Get him back to Goodison pronto, we need him for Sunday... I can't understand why they have these meaningless friendly international matches on during the season. Paul Dark 3 Posted 04/02/2013 at 22:09:04 If he can't train for Everton, he can't play for Belgium. Steavey Buckley 4 Posted 04/02/2013 at 22:31:54 Condition to play for Everton, do a Pienaar and don't play for country. Everton squad is already thin on the ground without the risk of playing for country. Tim Cahill was playing great for Everton scoring plenty of goals then got crocked playing for Australia, never the same player after. It is the fans who suffer. Shane Corcoran 5 Posted 04/02/2013 at 22:39:24 So no international players for Everton?Glory all the way. I think if you told any player with ambition that he can't play for his country we'd be down a division or too. What about the international fans? Steavey Buckley 6 Posted 04/02/2013 at 22:45:31 Haven't got the squad to lose 1 or 2 players to injury playing for country. Big game on Sunday, lose that, spuds win, 6 pts a drift. And who cares if England beat Brazil if Everton lose and spuds win. Steavey Buckley 7 Posted 04/02/2013 at 22:50:18 ..............and Fellaini leaves at the end of the season with no CL .....so no win situation. Jarrod O'Neill 8 Posted 05/02/2013 at 08:48:17 Hopefully Moyes had a quite word in Fellaini's ear saying, "If you're not 100%, don't risk the hip as it's just a friendly." Harold Matthews 9 Posted 05/02/2013 at 14:32:42 Hope he's OK for Sunday... He took one helluva bang from the goalie's knee. Surprised he travelled. After watching him limping, I thought he'd be on the treatment table all week. Trevor Lynes 10 Posted 05/02/2013 at 15:29:14 Felli probably travelled to meet up with players who speak his language.Hope he isn't used and gets back fit and raring to terrorize the Man Utd centre backs. Peter Jones 11 Posted 05/02/2013 at 22:27:24 He'll def play against united. It's too big a game and he's back in goalscoring form. Paul Dark 12 Posted 06/02/2013 at 06:41:10 He shouldn't even be with the Belgian squad. Derek Thomas 13 Posted 06/02/2013 at 08:14:53 Isn't this the 2nd time in a row he's 'sat out' this International farce... good job too.Was it an unofficial part of his new contract, right we'll give you £75k and a buy-out clause, but keep the stupid international games to a minimum... nod nod, wink wink! Trevor Lynes 14 Posted 06/02/2013 at 19:13:50 Don't forget, Mirallas is also playing!! They will both be needed against Man Utd. Fellaini will need to do what he did at Goodison (I just hope he is fit). Our bench is a disgrace and the board should hold their heads in shame. We will go through the season using the least players of any other team in the Premier League.Ambition is a word in the dictionary between addled and arsehole according to BK and his rich cronies. Richard Styles 15 Posted 07/02/2013 at 08:18:23 Apparently he was out on a bender until 5am in Belgium, Sat on the Subs bench for their match... Cant be that bumped up! As long as he faces Utd I don't give a crap, we have to try to to the double over Utd.... I have a V.I.P Ticket for the game and will be sitting in one of the best executive boxes in the ground...I would love to rub my bosses nose in it if we got 3 points... They support UTD.. 1-0 Everton Fella to score....
