Peter Fearon 2 Posted 28/02/2013 at 14:45:35 Let me think about that question for a moment - NO! Sam Morrison 3 Posted 28/02/2013 at 14:52:10 Where is all the praise? Can we have an example? Praise on TW, for example, is often followed by many people labelling the source of the praise as mindless sheep, or accepting of mediocrity, loving the colour ginger, being a club stooge, etc etc. Sam Morrison 4 Posted 28/02/2013 at 14:57:09 (I'm not saying he deserves 'all the praise' by the way. I just need a clarification.) Barry Rathbone 7 Posted 28/02/2013 at 17:02:22 Every generation sees whatever is notable as "great" irrespective of history and beyond Rooney the longevity of Moyes is the only noteworthy thing about this moribund era. It's easier to make excuses than admit how crap it all is and boy do people make excuses. Colin Glassar 8 Posted 28/02/2013 at 19:43:31 Apart from making us a top 10 team, Moyes has done sod all else to distinguish himself from other crap Everton managers like billy Bingham, the man from Norwich, Gordon Lee, Smith etc..... John Crook 9 Posted 28/02/2013 at 19:48:10 Moyes's leauge positions overall in his 11 years have been nothing short of miraculous. Pound for pound he is the best manager. Everton's only right to finish in decent league positions is based on the club's excellent history. Ever since the dawn of the Premier League, EFC were always also-rans or very near relegation (only a very brief Joe Royle period did we look anywhere near good in then modern era). But one thing I can't fathom is Moyes's failure to win a trophy. The FA Cup is a 6-game tournament... the Carling Cup even shorter and even easier... and 11 years with nothing but 1 final appearance is unacceptable. Even ignoring the obvious FA Cup upsets in Moyes's time, such as Shewsbury and Oldham... then you also can throw in disgraceful home exits to the likes of Birmingham and Reading. 11 years and 1 cup final appearance??? "Has Moyes achieved enough at Everton???" No! I'm convinced he will go this summer if the club has not gained entry into Europe by either winning the FA Cup, becoming runners up in the Cup against a team already qualified for the Champions Leauge, the now unlikely senario of finishing 4th, or finishing 5th or 6th will be enough to qualify.
