Season › 2012-13 › News Under-21s fall to Spurs at WHL Michael Kenrick , 13 May, 2comments | Jump to most recent Tottenham U21s 3 - 2 Everton U21s A fairly strong Everton U-21 side including Lundstram, Duffy, Barkley and McAleny but shorn of any experienced over-age players had to come from behind twice before they sucumbed to a late goal at White Hart Lane on Monday night. The loss brings to an end the 16-match unbeaten run for the former Reserves side and prevents them from challenging for the League trophy in the final. After Spurs had opened the scoring on 10 minutes, Conor McAleny's goal in first half stoppage time ensured it was all-square at the break. Tottenham were back in front moments after the restart before Chris Long replied to make it 2-2 almost immediately. Everton were the team in the ascendency throughout the majority of the second half but a goal for the home side on 89 minutes ensured it was Tottenham who progressed through to the final where they will play Manchester United or Liverpool. Everton U21s: Mucha; Stones, Garbutt, Lundstram, Browning; Duffy, Kennedy (20' Duffus), Barkley, McAleny, Long, Grant. Subs not Used: Springthorpe, Green, Molyneux, Pennington. Liam Reilly 2 Posted 14/05/2013 at 17:33:34 Shame - some real potential quality in there though. Hopefully some of them can make the grade.
