Everton made a bright start and deservedly took the lead through Callum Connolly on 15 minutes. It was all-square at half-time as Blackburn responded, but the Toffees were back in front after the restart when striker Courtney Duffus finished after good work from his brother, Tyrone. Everton wasted several opportunities to extend their advantage and they were hit by the sucker punch when the hosts levelled for a second time.
