Last-gasp Touray goal wins it for U21s

Ibou Touray bundled home a last-minute goal for Everton U21s as they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 this evening.

Conor Grant had fired the Blues' second string ahead in the second half after Hallam Hope had seen his penalty saved but Lenigan equalised soon afterwards.

Chris Long had a chance to win it for Everton with five minutes left but fired wide, only for Touray to pop up in stoppage time to take the points.

Tony Hibbert played the full 90 minutes as an over-age player, having otherwise been limited to just one Capital One Cup game so far this season.

The defensive stalwart admitted the run-out was exactly what he needed and said he was now focused on upping his fitness in order to become an additional first team defensive option for Roberto Martinez.

Everton U21s: Griffiths; McLaughlin, Touray, Grant, Kenny, Hibbert; Ledson (76' Jones), Lundstram; Hope, Long, Green.
Subs not Used: Hewelt, C Duffus, Williams.
