Goodison Park is hosting a celebration of all things retro this Saturday and supporters can get involved hours before kick-off in the Everton Fan Zone.

To bring back the great memories of footballing days gone by, former players, a retro band and even a traditional adult Toffee Lady will set up home in the Fan Zone before the match.

For the first time, the Fan Zone will also reopen after the game so that supporters can get involved in post-match analysis with a former player and watch highlights of the game.

Junior Evertonians can welcome the players to the stadium from 12:30pm in the Players' Parade and get their hands on a host of giveaways including classic football rattles, Everton rosettes and old-skool pin badges.

A 1960s tribute band will be playing some musical classics to create a nostalgic atmosphere, while the food stands will be offering fare more synonymous with football in the 1970s and 1980s alongside their usual options.
And to bring the retro atmosphere to life, the Club is also urging all Blues fans to dig out their retro shirts and scarves for the match, and encouraging junior fans to find their parents old shirts to show they know their history!

Goodison's special guests also continue the retro vibe with Sir Geoff Hurst, Ray Wilson and Derek Temple in attendance. Supporters can also enjoy a scene from The Dixie Dean Story in the Fan Zone before kick-off.

Also, Evertonians will be thanked by Barclays for the dedicated support that they show to the Club and the Premier League.

A special ‘Thank You squad' will descend on the Park End car park to challenge fans to demonstrate their loyalty and passion, and thank them with a number of rewards. The activity is part of Barclays effort to thank footballs fans across the UK for supporting their football club through thick and thin.

Among the acts of dedication that the ‘Thank You squad' will be on the look-out for are supporters who arrive at the ground early to start building the pre-match atmosphere, those who show their colours in tribute to the Club, those who sing the loudest and generally, those who give the team unrivalled support.

A Barclays spokesperson said:” Everton fans follow their Club with dedication and passion. They deserve to have their stories celebrated and rewarded for the efforts they make to follow their Club through all the ups and downs that the season can bring. The fans help to make the Barclays Premier League what it is today.

“Our Thank You squad will be seeking out the most passionate fans at Everton this weekend and rewarding them for their support.”
