Playing in front of 6,000 fans thanks to the club's laudable decision to allow junior fans in for free, the Blues had to soak up a good deal of pressure in the first half but Mason Springthorpe's goal remained intact. Everton came more into it as an attacking force after half-time, though, and Hallam Hope almost won it late in the second half but Amos clawed his effort onto the post. Everton U21s: Springthorpe; Hibbert, McLaughlin, Browning, Touray; Lundstram, Williams (85' Green); Kennedy, Grant, Long, Hope. Subs not Used: Griffiths, C Duffus, T Duffus, Shannon.
