Disclaimer Garry Corgan 1 Posted 21/09/2017 at 00:25:10 Starting to get the feeling this isn't gonna be our season. James Owen 2 Posted 21/09/2017 at 00:34:10 Wonder what Cyborg's reasoning will be when we get trounced 4-0 in that game... "Not enough aggression??"Hmmmmm? That one's wearing thin.Anyone giving Koeman longer than to the end of this season in the job? Derek Knox 3 Posted 21/09/2017 at 01:18:18 What more could we want?An easy away tie? This will be a true test of Koeman's tactics and team selection, if you want to win any competition, you have to be prepared to meet any team home or away.Like Garry has said, it doesn't look too good, but you never know, stranger things have happened in the past.Come on, Koeman, stand up and be counted. Clarence Yurcan 4 Posted 21/09/2017 at 02:21:39 Well, that was fun while it lasted! Eric Myles 5 Posted 21/09/2017 at 03:20:32 Prophetic TW?? Peter Fearon 6 Posted 21/09/2017 at 03:37:13 Draw could have been kinder but Chelsea will not field a full strength team. If Koeman is serious about this competition - and I don't think he is - he will field a strong side against Chelsea and we can get through. Ian Jones 8 Posted 21/09/2017 at 06:03:10 This could be an interesting match vs Chelsea, especially the date. I think the matches are in the week beginning 23rd October. We play Arsenal on Sunday 22 OctoberChelsea due to play Monday 23 OctoberChelsea play Saturday 28 October Everton play Sunday 29 OctoberLooks like all are scheduled to be shown on TV. So that's helpful if games remain as planned. Plenty of rotation for Chelsea. They also have Champions League the following week.Look forward to the next logo we see displayed in the build up. I am going for Man City as our next opponents. Lewis Barclay 9 Posted 21/09/2017 at 06:15:06 There is a (small) chance that Chelsea won't be too thrilled at having to play us this early in the competition, don't we think? Peter Warren 10 Posted 21/09/2017 at 06:24:12 Yes, Lewis... a small chance! Will Mabon 11 Posted 21/09/2017 at 07:09:39 Well, we'd likely have met up with them at some stage, might as well knock them out early. Dermot Byrne 12 Posted 21/09/2017 at 07:34:54 Who did Liverpool get? Oh.. Alasdair Mackay 13 Posted 21/09/2017 at 08:26:07 Shame for the younger players that did so well last night. It will be 7 at the back against Chelsea in the next round. We wouldn't want Evertonians to have expectations of anything attacking would we Ronald? Stan Schofield 15 Posted 21/09/2017 at 08:46:23 Well, there's a decent chance we could beat Chelsea if we adopt the right tactics and put players in their proper positions. But if Brains is still in charge, it'll probably be the usual defensive shite and bad tactics, in which case we won't stand much chance. James Macdonald 17 Posted 21/09/2017 at 09:54:37 Not sure how Holgate did at left-back last night but if Baines is rested at Chelsea next month I can see their reserves would probably be good enough to exploit that. Against that, I think we have a big enough squad now that, provided we have half a dozen first choice players in the line-up, then should have at least a 50-50 chance. I think at some stage Keane will need a rest though. Denis Richardson 18 Posted 21/09/2017 at 12:57:27 Great. So we'll knock out Chelsea next round, then Man Utd after that, which I think will take us to the quarters. We'll see off Man City fairly easily, at their place naturally, stuff Spurs in the semi before we go on to lose to the mighty Bristol City in the final, having blown a 3-0 half-time lead just to prolong the trophyless agony. The life of an Everton fan, ey?Next 🆠2031! Nitesh Kanchan 19 Posted 21/09/2017 at 13:14:22 Koeman should go with the same line-up at Chelsea. The U23 side thumped them 3-0 with Hazard in their side. Paul Goodchild 20 Posted 21/09/2017 at 13:16:18 We knocked them out of the FA Cup on their patch a few years ago, albeit on penalties. If the team are up for it and are pretty much at full strength, then it could be a chance to get some real momentum going, especially if we win the next 3 and do okay against Arsenal. Misplaced optimism maybe, who knows? Not sure these days. Ste Traverse 21 Posted 21/09/2017 at 13:27:09 Absolute twat of a draw considering who we could have got.I know we knocked them out of the FA Cup just 18 months ago but that was at home and Rom decided to have one of his rare days against a top side. David Hallwood 22 Posted 21/09/2017 at 13:40:40 If the last round is anything to go by. Chelsea will field an under-strength side (albeit a strong one) so let's go for it. Too much negativity on TW at present (including me) and we were never a particularly optimistic bunch of chaps to begin with. Derek Thomas 23 Posted 21/09/2017 at 13:52:43 Get that arl Vanilla Kit out and see them off after Penalties!!! James Peter 25 Posted 21/09/2017 at 16:53:33 Gutted. I thought I was going to be the first to comment on the Prophecy before the game. Rarely if ever I've noticed a mistake like that and now we draw them, haha. Neil Roberts 26 Posted 21/09/2017 at 18:51:55 We got Niasse. Jack Convery 27 Posted 21/09/2017 at 22:04:25 If the squad reacted the way we all have send the U23s and the rest of us can have a rest. Anthony Hanlon 28 Posted 27/09/2017 at 15:33:39 Once again, we are overlooked for live TV coverage as Sky have chosen Spurs v West Ham and surprise surprise Swansea v Man Utd (having selected Man Utd v Burton last round).
