Fly the Nest: what now for the Under-23 stars?
Martin O'Connor
26/06/2019With two Premier League 2 titles in 2016-17 and 2018-19, David Unsworth and his team have been doing a good job at Under-23 level. But as always, the question is what is the main aim for the Under-23s?

14/05/2019Is yours half-full or half-empty after Everton finished in 8th place for the second season running?
Please... not this summer

24/04/2019The team is not yet ready for the challenge of Europe as well as a domestic campaign. The Blues need another full pre-season and domestic campaign under Marco Silva. This will lead to a European spot at the end of next season and it is then when Everton will be ready to tackle European competition again.
What Rhino Did Next

18/04/2019What David Unsworth has achieved this season has outshone his title-winning 2016-17 season. This PL2 title win is testament to the work he has done with the Under-23s, who are also in the quarter-finals of the Premier League 2 Cup with a home tie against Blackburn Rovers — a League and Cup double could well be on the cards. Which leads us to the questions: "What Next for David Unsworth? Has he taken the Under 23s project as far as he can?"

18/10/2018There are signs that there is a promising batch of young players in the Under-23 squad who may have a chance at the Club. In the Under-18s as well, the Everton Academy system is still in good health.
Signs of Spring
Martin O'Connor
09/09/2018It is early days and there is a long way to go, but the start we have made has exceeded what could have been expected. The cold dark winter of Allardyce is well and truly gone. The buds of spring are now starting to sprout under Silva and Brands. There is a long way to go and we will have setbacks along the way, but we can look forward with optimism.

Building for capacity at Bramley-Moore Dock
Martin O'Connor
22/01/2019The proposed capacity of 52,000 planned for Bramley-Moore Dock is not yet set in stone but, on consideration, I think it is a good and realistic figure. However, some fans say that 52,000 is lacking ambition and the club should be aiming for the 60,000 mark now.
Continuing the Cull in January
Martin O'Connor
24/12/2018Following the herculean Summer efforts of Brands and Silva to cut down on our bloated squad, there are still a number of players who should be let go, either permanently or on loan in the January window
