The win at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre was secured through goals by Nathangelo Markelo and Josh Bowler. A battling performance saw the Blues net in either half but they had to dig deep with a strong Brighton side dominating possession for long periods of the second half and scoring late on. Markelo charged down the Brighton keeper in the 14th minute to score with an opportunistic strike that saw him finish. Bowler then sealed all three points 4 minutes from time when his rasping shot from 20 yards out gave the 'keeper no chance.
