Morgan Feeney's 36th-minute header proves decisive at a wet and wild County Ground after a real resolute performance from David Unsworth's U23s as they made it two wins from two in Premier League Cup Group D.

Unsworth's men defended resolutely throughout in what was their third away game in seven days, while their dynamic forward players provided a consistent threat.

Everton U23s: Virginia, John, Charsley, Markelo, Browning, Feeney {c}, Bowler, Adeniran, Sambou (66' Evans), Broadhead (78' Astley), Gordon (73' Lavery).
Subs not Used: Hilton, Mampala.

I was thinking there were not many fringe first-team squad players in that line-up: no Dowell, Baningime, Jagielka, Niasse, Davies, or Schneiderlin... but I guess they all played on Tuesday against Gor Mahia, so nevamind.

(Kenny is injured; Holgate possibly suspended? )

Good result with genuine U23s (even U21s) right through the side.
