In their next fixture, Everton U23s take on Liverpool at Goodison Park on Sunday: kick-off is 2 pm, with live streaming available for Everton Members.

David Unsworth's U23s side have been top of the Premier League 2 table all season, with local rivals Liverpool well out of striking distance in eighth place but this is a big game for the Blues' development squad.

Striker Bassala Sambou says that every Everton player is looking forward to the derby clash.

“I honestly cannot wait for the game,” he said. “I'm so excited and everyone is up for this match — we're all buzzing.

“It's a derby and it's a big one.

“I know my personality will definitely come out for this game. I'm going to be giving it a lot. And I know we will all be giving 100%.

“We're all together and we've been fantastic so far this season. We've got to know each other better and I feel we're getting better as a team.”

The in-form young Blues have won four of their last five Premier League 2 matches and will aim to extend their advantage at the top of the division with a victory over 8th-placed Liverpool.

I hope they win and that makes the first team want to get a result against our arch rivals...

Hope we play a strong side and get our tails up – McCarthy, Holgate and Niasse should be involved.

I see Bassala Sambou is doing better this season — he joined Everton from Coventry City for David Unswoth's fantastic Championship-winning season, the inaugural one for the new Premier League 2. He got more game time last season but 'only' scored 5 goals.

This season, I see he has got 7 goals already from only 13 starts. And with those stats, he is far and and away the leading scorer for this season's Under-23's — well, that's what your ToffeeWeb U23s page says, anyway...

That's a hard-luck story loss then.

Is there any team news out yet or any streams please? I don't feel like paying again to join as a member again. Lost count of the times I paid for all the pre-season games and half of them didn't work. Bah...

David, From what I heard the rushed reading out of the teams, we have Virginia, Kenny, Feeney, Browning, Charsley, Adeniran, Markelo, Evans, Dowell, Broadhead, Bowler. Official link looking perfect for once.
