FAB

No this is not about Kenwright's departure though that would be fab.

This is about the nominations for the Fan Advisory Board and votes required.

The nominees are Julie Clarke, Rob Galkoff, Ryan Glover, Scott McAllister, Paul McMonnies, Paul Rigby, Nick Weitch and Kurtis Windrow.

I have to confess I don't know any of them but I'm sure some fellow ToffeeWebbers will offer some opinions on who the best nominees would be.

Hi all, as stated in one of my previous comments, I am an Everton fan in Australia and I don't really have the in-depth knowledge of the club.

Although I have toured Goodison, I still don't have the fan bona fides of you lot. Hence you lot probably think I'm a casual.

My question is what purpose does the Fan Advisory Board have, is it basically a conduit between the fans and the club? Is there any influence the organisation can have over the club? Is it merely tossing the fans a bone to think the club listen to them?

Do many clubs have independent fan groups? Do any have those group with official ties to the running of the club?

Never mind all that, Greg. Which AFL team do you support?

OK, Demon!

Hawks fan here. Probably the only one in Seattle. Very funny story how that happened.

Mike ,

North Melbourne are the Kangaroos, Melbourne are the Demons. North wear blue and white.

Both North and Everton are performing as well as each other on field!

Ah, got it Greg, thanks for the correction!

Well, we can both be glad there's no relegation in the AFL. Our respective teams would be in worse trouble than Everton just were!

Jay,

I contacted FAB several months ago, asking to be considered. In fairness, I received a fairly prompt reply telling me to keep an eye on the website for when positions next became available. I didn't, so looks like I missed the boat again, not that I would have made the down-select.

I was always sceptical as to the influence they could have and would have. So far, all I've seen is an open letter and them being stood up by the club at the last scheduled FAB meeting.

Do they have influence? Probably not. But I would imagine it's a frustrating place to be. Maybe there is more going on behind the scenes.

A good initiative and potentially useful platform for supporters, but it has to be meaningful.
