Birmingham City U21s 1 - 0 Everton U21s

Everton U21s were away at Liberty Way in Nuneaton where they lost to a last-minute goal from Birmingham City as games in Group F of the Premier League Cup continue.

Everton U21s: Leban (62' Barrett), Heath, Anderson [Y:46'] (64' Hunt), Welch, Campbell, Quirk, Mills (64' Okoronkwo), Djankpata (64' Kouyate), Cannon [Y:43'] (64' Apter), Barker, I Samuels-Smith.
Subs all used.

You have to assume this was a full-strength team from the players available. I see only Isaac Price being perhaps elevated to the first-team squad but he might be injured as Cannon, Mills, Quirk, Anderson and Welch all turned out for this one.

By my reckoning, assuming players who abruptly stop appearing are in fact out injured, that leaves the following list of walking wounded:

Sean McAllister
Kyle John
Einar Iversen *
Charlie Whitaker
Mathew Mallon
Luke Butterfield *

Them, along with the host of players out on loan, would comprise a pretty decent team at this level.

Thanks Michael. The report at the Echo made it as if Tom Cannon missed chances after chances like Lautaro Martinez does in the World Cup, but an away game at the Midlands is next easy...
