Disclaimer () Danny O'Neill 1 Posted 26/12/2024 at 10:04:36 United are allegedly over £700M debt despite the efforts of their board and have spent over £1BN in transfers the past three seasons. On top of that the owe other clubs somewhere between, £300-£400M in non-paid transfer fees.Leaky roof at Old Trafford and mice found in the kitchen that serves their corporate areas. Not a good look out. Tony Abrahams 2 Posted 26/12/2024 at 10:15:33 They look in the dustbin for something to eat and found a dead mouse, who theyre claiming was scouse - in their old Trafford slums😂 Rob Halligan 3 Posted 26/12/2024 at 16:54:10 OMG……what a piss poor pass by Onana, straight to Joelinton who scores the skunk maggots third goal. Brian Williams 4 Posted 26/12/2024 at 17:00:48 I enjoyed that, Rob. 🤣 Rob Halligan 5 Posted 26/12/2024 at 17:07:15 I only saw the last 20 minutes or so of that Skunks game v Villa, Brian, but my god, Villa looked piss poor. No doubt many will be predicting a loss to them in a few weeks time though. Brian Williams 6 Posted 26/12/2024 at 17:11:31 Karma for Onana! See what I did there? Rob Halligan 7 Posted 26/12/2024 at 18:34:24 Fernandes red card again! 😂😂😂 Paul Ferry 8 Posted 26/12/2024 at 18:39:31 Mixed feelings, Rob. He's in my FPL team. I was hoping it was a straight red so that I can bin him.Good day out, Rob! I wish we had not sold Iwobi. Made up for Silva. Wazza is not really a manager is he? Paul Ferry 9 Posted 26/12/2024 at 18:45:36 Cunha straight from a corner! Man Utd one place ahead of us and we have a game in hand that is a nailed-on 3-pointer for us under the lights!!! Mind you, it's tighter down at the bottom than I would like. Wolves out of the Bottom 3 and Palace have an absolute dream run of fixtures coming up over the next 2 months. Paul Ferry 12 Posted 26/12/2024 at 19:22:16 Going ahead at the shittiest ground in our city. That fog will get worse as the night gets colder. Nervous times for the EasyTronheim travellers. Paul Ferry 13 Posted 26/12/2024 at 19:26:42 2-0 - some start for the new gaffer 5-0 in 2 Colin Glassar 14 Posted 26/12/2024 at 19:31:04 Can we get Cunha in January? Hed be a season changer for us. Jeff Armstrong 15 Posted 26/12/2024 at 19:31:44 Wolves 6 points from nowhere in a week.New manager bounce alive and kicking. Rob Halligan 16 Posted 26/12/2024 at 19:35:20 Fog is like pea soup by mine, Paul, about 5-6 miles to Mordor. Also about 4-5 miles to Liverpool airport. So there could be plenty of hotels fully booked later on if flights are cancelled back to Norway. Lee Courtliff 17 Posted 26/12/2024 at 19:39:49 Anyone else notice that Wolves did the exact same kick off routine at the start of the second half as what we did against Brentford? That was the one where McNeil played the ball straight back to Pickford who launched up towards the right wing where we had 3 players in position to contest the header. It didn't work for Wolves either. Paul Ferry 18 Posted 26/12/2024 at 19:43:18 That's a pretty penny for an abandoned match Rob. Brings out the worst in me. Cunha well out of our league, Colin, but he wasn't this time last year. Gunners are sniffing round apparently. Calvert-Lewin and Broja are fine for me until the end of the season with Chermiti thereabouts perhaps. I'd rather have a speedy winger or two that might actually help our forwards and a left-back and right-back if I can be greedy. Dewsbury-Hall on loan is a must for me but again the Gunners sniffing around. I'd take Iwobi back in a heartbeat! Lookman is way beyond our reach. Mike Gaynes 19 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:07:16 Holy smokes. Leicester up one at Anfield. Andy Meighan 20 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:13:26 I hope no one comes on here and says I hope Liverpool win because it'll be a good result for us.It won't, we can take care of ourselves I want them bastards to lose every game.On another note, we could do a lot worse than try getting Chilwell from Chelsea, he's been frozen out there and has always looked a decent left-back to me. Paul Hewitt 21 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:21:08 I never thought Wolves would go down. They just needed a better manager. Paul Ferry 22 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:37:00 It feels sort of ominous but hope springs eternal. Coady looking powerful there. Paul Ferry 23 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:38:00 A combined Wolves - Everton XI would have more Wolves players than us. Paul Hewitt 24 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:41:06 Don't be silly, PF Paul Ferry 26 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:48:39 Not really PH: Pickford Doherty Bueno/Tarkowski Branthwaite Ait-nouri Semedo Mangala Guedes Ndiaye Broja Cunha Edward Rogers 27 Posted 26/12/2024 at 20:53:11 Fucking Devil's Team. Paul Ferry 28 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:07:17 I hate to say it but this is going to be a second-half siege and right now Leicester's keeper and centre-halves are all over the place. Jeff Armstrong 29 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:08:02 TBF Edward, I didnt think that was a bad side PF selected, apart from Doherty of course, hes shite!😀 Paul Ferry 30 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:08:30 Poxy fecking shite Mike Gaynes 31 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:08:32 2-1. Ah well. Paul Ferry 32 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:09:28 Right back was an issue Jeff; but Doherty has more threat than Young or Coleman. Paul Ferry 33 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:09:48 Salah is off LOL Paul Ferry 34 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:10:16 Ah shite he is not Leicester defender in the middle Edward Rogers 35 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:14:08 Sorry Jeff, I was referring to the Red S***e !! Jeff Armstrong 36 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:15:14 Young has had a good season at right-back for us, ahead of Doherty all day long in our fantasy Wolves & Everton team, which would still be bottom half! Yes, I know Edward, just dicking about cos I'm bored as Leicester have given up. Rob Halligan 37 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:15:50 That green line could have been the thickness of a hair off a cows arse, but they still would have made sure it was onside. Mike Gaynes 38 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:19:59 Broja got the call again today instead of Beto, who is now clearly Dyche's 3rd choice. That could pay immediate financial dividends. Tutto Dello Sport reports that Torino will be in for Beto on loan in the upcoming window. If they pay a nominal fee and assume his salary, that's a £6m return for us. And with Chermiti back as well, we'll never miss Beto. Jeff Armstrong 39 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:22:20 But if Calvert-Lewin goes to Italy in January too, it will leave us with only Chermiti and Broja.Meanwhile, horseface brings off his two best performers: El Khanous and Winks. Paul Ferry 40 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:24:29 That young fella in the U12s can't stop scoring, Jeff. Mike Gaynes 41 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:25:06 I can't imagine we would ship them both, Jeff. If Dom goes, we'll keep Beto. And of course Dom will bring in a hell of a lot more than £6M. Jeff Armstrong 42 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:26:54 Not sure if he will MG, free in the summer for someone, max £8 million in January methinks Mike Gaynes 43 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:27:20 3-1. Flagged offside but I don't think so. Paul Ferry 44 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:27:27 Is Coady playing Salah onside? Paul Ferry 45 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:29:43 this is pathetic Mike Gaynes 46 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:30:45 Maybe, Jeff, but we'd also be saving £3m on his salary. I was wrong. Still 2-1. Edward Rogers 47 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:33:26 I know the feeling Jeff.. Jeff Armstrong 48 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:34:14 I've always supported Dom but £8 million in January and a replacement would do me, with Chermiti and Broja.Beto is a trier but not particularly decent. I'd be happy to see them both go (only if we get a decent fee for Dom) with at least one replacement coming in. Jeff Armstrong 49 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:39:15 The league is the redshites to lose, Chelsea arent nearly good enough as proven in their last two games, Arsenal only can stop them, and a Liverpool meltdown. Mike Gaynes 50 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:41:54 Okay, now it's 3-1.Jeff, I don't think January is the ideal time to ship out two strikers and bring one back in. Tough window, and we have more urgent needs than another 3rd striker. I'd consider it much more likely that we ship just one and re-set in the summer. Paul Ferry 51 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:42:15 Jeff, a ready-made ready-to-go striker is going to cost us north of £30M and add on a few million more if he has Premier League experience. We don't have that sort of money to throw on one striker when fast wingers and good full-backs are also priorities. For starters, loan moves for Ferguson and Dewsbury-Hall. Nor can we depend on Broja with his injury track record. Jeff Armstrong 52 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:45:32 Not sure we have room for loans, Paul. My thoughts are we get actual money for DCL rather than nothing the summer, it's not like we're going to miss his goals. Steve Hogan 53 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:48:06 We've maxed out on both domestic and international loans. so it's a no-go on both fronts. Paul Ferry 54 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:49:58 Ah, thanks Steve. Jeff, so we bank the £8M and Broja gets injured? Mike Gaynes 55 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:53:03 Isn't that incoming loans, Steve? Aren't we able to loan somebody out? Paul Ferry 56 Posted 26/12/2024 at 21:54:36 Yes Mike. Paul Ferry 57 Posted 26/12/2024 at 22:01:21 We really can't afford to loan folk out with our squad but it would be good for Patterson to get minutes and even hours. Jeff Armstrong 59 Posted 26/12/2024 at 22:27:31 No, we take the £8M add £4M to it and then spend it on the unknown 22-year-old Brazilian or Championship striker that Brighton might be looking at, Robert Tressell will have a name or two from France or Holland or Luton, and hey presto we have a goal-scoring sensation on our hands! I know it's not that easy but £8M for Calvert-Lewin is good business, we would manage with the other 3, we've managed with 2 for 2 seasons, it's only recently we've had 4 to pick from for one place. Jeff Armstrong 60 Posted 26/12/2024 at 22:30:59 Paul 58, didnt Dean Martin drink Canada Dry? Paul Ferry 61 Posted 26/12/2024 at 23:01:01 My folks drank Canada Dry with something – whisky, I think. Danny O'Neill 62 Posted 27/12/2024 at 11:34:29 I wouldn't say Wolves are out of it it just yet. Liverpool are in a very strong position, but have been here before. Look at Chelsea until the last two matches and Arsenal can go 2nd today. That's 2 games in touch.Anything can happen in football. Who would have predicted we would we have taken 7 points from our last 4 games unbeaten? Beat Forest and we're on 20 points going into the New Year. And I have to say, after watching an all day football fest on Amazon Prime yesterday, that has got to be the worst Manchester United performance I've seen in decades. Paul Ferry 63 Posted 27/12/2024 at 19:40:36 You mean, Danny, that Wolves are not out of the title race? Paul Ferry 64 Posted 27/12/2024 at 19:46:39 Offside, feck me, an inch.Longing for the days of no shinpads and footy cards smelling of chewy… Jeff Armstrong 65 Posted 27/12/2024 at 20:42:51 Arsenal a goal up, I believe the Gooners are the RS only competition, and they are perennially bottlers.Good to see Ipswich losing though. Paul Ferry 66 Posted 27/12/2024 at 20:51:06 Only Arsenal or Chelsea, Jeff, if they get their head of steam going again. But in all cases, we need Liverpool to have a couple of dodgy patches. Jeff Armstrong 67 Posted 27/12/2024 at 20:59:03 That Damsgard for Brentford is a cracking little player. Paul Ferry 68 Posted 27/12/2024 at 21:02:25 He is tucked in behind the striker, just what we need. My mate, an Arsenal fan, he's actually chair of the fan liaison committee with the club, always said that losing Timber last season was massive and didn't help them in the league and I see why; he was brilliant in that first half. Paul Ferry 69 Posted 27/12/2024 at 21:56:59 Ipswich giving it a real go Paul Hewitt 70 Posted 27/12/2024 at 22:04:35 Arsenal should be out of sight Paul Ferry 71 Posted 27/12/2024 at 22:09:01 Worrying that they are not, Paul. Missed Saka so badly; Martinelli is nowhere near the player Saka is. Ipswich had more foul throws than shots on goal. Paul Hewitt 72 Posted 27/12/2024 at 22:12:25 Good result for us. Paul Ferry 73 Posted 27/12/2024 at 22:14:39 Yep. Saints are down already and I can't see Ipswich staying up.At which point, we make summer bids for Delap and Davis. Paul Hewitt 74 Posted 27/12/2024 at 22:17:03 We need to start getting some wins on the board now, and start pulling away from the Bottom 3. Paul Ferry 75 Posted 27/12/2024 at 22:20:13 Next two games are very difficult. I'd much rather play Man City or Chelsea at home than Forest at the moment. Danny O'Neill 76 Posted 28/12/2024 at 12:18:40 No Paul,I don't think Wolves are quite out of the possibility of going down.My son thinks it will be the Bottom 3 as is. The three who came up. Nigel Scowen 77 Posted 28/12/2024 at 12:33:04 I agree with your son, Danny, as with my post on the Pickford thread. We will be fine. Alan J Thompson 78 Posted 28/12/2024 at 15:37:27 It is a gossip column but the BBC have Calvert-Lewin in pre-contract talks which means we'll get nothing by way of a transfer fee. So, if Beto was to go out on loan, we'd have Broja and Chermiti as this season's strikers and possibly Chermiti alone next season. Can our new owners pay our way out of PSR or can we do a Man Utd and plead concessions due to a takeover? Fred Quick 79 Posted 28/12/2024 at 15:58:25 Alan @78,I read some rumour earlier today that Newcastle were prepared to purchase Calvert-Lewin last summer but couldn't agree to the £37M fee that Everton allegedly wanted for him. I think the club are aware of the probable departure of Dominic and indeed Beto, so it's unlikely that TFG would leave a gaping hole in an already poor department of the team and they will have to support the manager with new recruits. Whether those possible new recruits will help solve the attacking department is open to debate. On another note, I watched Brighton last night and Pedro? was fortunate not be sent off, in my view he clearly lashed out with his elbow, and although he didn't make contact with an opponent, the intent was there, but apparently it wasn't a clear and obvious error by the referee. Geoff Trenner 80 Posted 28/12/2024 at 16:37:40 Danny @62. Not sure it is even possible to get 7 points from 4 games unbeaten but I agree with your point that anything can happen.
