It seems unlikely that 31-year-old James Ward-Prowse could be the catalyst to reenergize the Everton midfield come January, but that is what some sources are expecting us to believe.
Apparently an ex-Hammers insider with his/her finger on the pulse has said:
“Although Ward-Prowse has been pretty much banished from the first team since Nuno arrived, there has been no fallout between the pair. Nuno wants pace and energy in his midfield and Ward-Prowse just doesn’t fit that profile. Which means he is highly likely at this stage to leave in the New Year.
“His former club, Southampton, where he was captain, are prepared to take him back. We also understand that David Moyes has shown interest in possibly taking him up to Everton.”
The idea that a player whom Nuno has overlooked because he wants pace and energy in midfield would be of benefit to Everton seems at best far-fetched... but that's what all these online betting houses are salivating over, so find some good odds on this now and get your stake on!
