He captains the England side tonight, wearing No 10. Live right now on Channel 4. Rob Halligan 2 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:01:37 These group huddles just before kick off do my head in. What do they say that hasnt already been said? “Fuck what the manager said, well do it our own way”! Michael Kenrick 3 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:02:22 Ridiculous yellow card after only 17 seconds. Bloody Fifa referees! Rob Halligan 4 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:05:10 Elliot Anderson…jeez, I thought he was about 30!! Colin Glassar 5 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:16:21 A pleasure to watch these lads enjoy playing for their country. God know what happens at senior level. I'd love us to get McAtee. He's a very tidy player. Danny O'Neill 6 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:25:04 I thought Cresswell thumped that out without needing to. No players around him. The keeper could have taken control.Random one. Now that we have started using names like Czechia (Czech Republic) and Keev (aka Kiev). So instead of Germany, it's Deutschland. Holland / the Netherlands, becomes Nederland. Belgium could get tricky. Dutch, French and German language pronunciations.Likewise Switzerland. Die Schweiz, La Suisse or Svizzera?Back to the match. Good atmosphere. Rob Halligan 7 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:27:34 Nick Woltemade who we're linked with, has put Germany ahead against Slovenia. Rob Halligan 8 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:39:39 RS puts England ahead. Good lay off by McAtee though. Colin Glassar 9 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:42:16 That Hutchison (Ipswich?) looks good. Danny O'Neill 10 Posted 12/06/2025 at 20:49:58 Yes Colin, he's Ipswich. Decent player.England youngsters are playing some good stuff.First time I've had a look at McAtee. He looks promising. Michael Kenrick 11 Posted 12/06/2025 at 21:14:18 Took the slightest deflection off a defender, goalkeeper could not adjust. Rob Halligan 13 Posted 12/06/2025 at 21:42:30 Woltemade hat trick! Mark Murphy 14 Posted 12/06/2025 at 21:46:03 We can forget him then! Andrew Ellams 15 Posted 12/06/2025 at 21:47:27 Looking at some of these players and you have to question what the hell goes on in our academy. Mark Murphy 16 Posted 12/06/2025 at 21:56:27 Danny, then theres Espana, Sverige and Suomi (gwan, without googling it wheres that lady one?)Greece (Hellas) and Croatia (Hvrastska) Even London is Londres, Londra or Cnutstown depending where your from..Where do these translations come from??Why isnt every country or city referenced in its own original language?Marco dels gran ciutat de Santa Helena, pueblo de los merinos..UTFT Si Cooper 17 Posted 13/06/2025 at 00:17:36 Colin and Danny (9,10), he has pace and decent control but he wasnt in the game enough for me in our recent game against them. I thought he was also a bit one dimensional in always wanting to come inside. The youngster who came on later in that game looked to have more X factor to me although he did let his enthusiasm rule his head a bit at times. Sam Hoare 18 Posted 13/06/2025 at 07:24:40 Lots of good players on display. Hayden Hackney who came on briefly is someone I think would help us in central midfield without costing the world. Jonathan Rowe is someone I thought we might have gone for last summer as he only cost Marseille £13m.Mcatee looks a good player but I wonder if he's better inside than on the wing? For me RW is definitely a priority spot this summer, getting a real talent there who can beat a man and spot a pass will mean a big upgrade to our team. Mike Gaynes 19 Posted 13/06/2025 at 18:46:38 Danny and Mark, it can happen in just one language. I used to live in Oregon... or Orygun... or OriGAHN... or Origgin. Si Cooper 20 Posted 13/06/2025 at 22:47:48 Suomi is Finland. Educated guess, Mark. Michael Kenrick 21 Posted 14/06/2025 at 20:30:09 T Barry, in whom we are apparently pledging our troth, does not start for French U21s vs Georgia U21s tonite. He's on the bench. But it's Portugal v Poland on 4seven (Channel 137 on My Sky).Ahh... France v Georgia is on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z99cq4Gg_GI Robert Tressell 22 Posted 14/06/2025 at 20:46:37 Michael, in fairness to Barry it's no big shame being behind Tel, he's a very talented striker. Michael Kenrick 23 Posted 14/06/2025 at 21:39:24 Ah, now you Tel me!No worries, he's come on now at 73 minutes but his mate Abline just had a tremendous shot saved. And Georgia just equalized. Michael Kenrick 24 Posted 14/06/2025 at 21:44:13 Barry has a very odd way about him. Strange run, very poor dribble, easily thwarted. Good at shirt-pulling... after which Georgia take the lead!!! France in danger of elimination. Michael Kenrick 25 Posted 14/06/2025 at 21:54:03 But France come back and equalize. And then Thierno Barry scores what must be the winner for France in added time! A predatory striker's goal. What a baller! But no — he was inches offside!!! Michael Kenrick 26 Posted 14/06/2025 at 22:04:09 Well, 6 minutes of added time goes past 12 minutes... and Barry scores again! But looks offside... or was he level with the assister?Yes, he was. Barry wins it 3-2 for France in very dramatic finish. Barry the hero. Fantastic finish to the game! Liam Mogan 27 Posted 15/06/2025 at 18:52:40 Like watching paint dry, that England - Slovenia game.Best thing about it was the stunning castle on a hill that overlooked the ground Liam Mogan 28 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:06:17 Great finish by Germany. 0-1.Quansah just stood watching the ball sail over his head. Paul Hewitt 29 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:11:41 Bit harsh, Liam. Not much he could do about it. Fantastic finish. Liam Mogan 30 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:14:56 Defend properly and know where his man is, Paul. Shocking positioning. Liam Mogan 31 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:18:02 Just crocked himself by misreading a header and getting bullied by some little German striker. Paul Hewitt 32 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:21:36 England the better team now. Paul Hewitt 33 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:33:45 Now that was crap defending. Liam Mogan 34 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:36:54 I don't think any of this lot know how to defend balls in the air. The 2 players practically turned their backs. Liam Mogan 35 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:48:58 Floodlights have broken 🤣 Paul Hewitt 36 Posted 18/06/2025 at 20:54:18 Put 50p in the metre Add Your Comments In order to post a comment, you need to be logged in as a registered user of the site. » Log in now Or Sign up as a ToffeeWeb Member — it's free, takes just a few minutes and will allow you to post your comments on articles and Talking Points submissions across the site.
