Everton had the best of the first half and carried on like that in the second half winning 2-0 with both goals coming from Benjamin, the second after a mistake by the Liverpool ‘keeper.

Great win. Benjamin might just be playing his way into first-team squad contention.

They had big prospects Nallo and Nyoni playing too – bought in from West Ham and Leicester respectively so it's a good result for us away.

Great to see Everton beat hem any time.

Hopefully it will boost belief and confidence through the Everton squads.

UTFTs!

A good win.

Hopefully Roman Dixon will be able to go on loan in January now Patterson is fit.

Anyone interested in seeing these two goals, have a gander at GrandOldTeam youth team page.

The first is well taken using his speed then placing his shot beyond the ‘keeper, who makes a Pickford mess of dealing with a backpass, and Benjamin uses his speed to take full advantage of that.

I read a match report on the Echo website that made it sound like the better team lost, and Everton's two goals were both scored against the run of play Dave!

No wonder we call it the Red Echo because the same match report definitely mentioned Everton having a few more chances

Tony, you know how much I hate that lot but, having watched the game, I'd say there's something in that report.

That lot played the better football IMHO but we took our chances and our keeper played a blinder mate.

But if the fact is that they feel they were the better team but still lost, then that's enough to put a smile on my face!

Tony (6),

I read the report on an Everton website which later said that Everton's ‘keeper made many fine saves.

So Brian's post @7 is more than likely a truer version of the game and, as Brian says, that makes it better and puts a smile on his face!

The more unlucky they were, the better!

And mine to father! Thanks, Brian, it's always a pleasure beating those horrible twats!

But I think it's time for us to start producing the better young footballers again, like we did at one stage before Martin Waldron was sacked, taking the blame for something everyone at the club must have surely been aware of.
