Everton 2 - 0 Peterborough Utd

Sean Dyche is finally gone, and there's suddenly a fresh new feel about the Old Lady as it hosts its last FA Cup campaign, starting with this 3rd Round tie against The Posh.

Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman are in charge now, but Dyche has left them with the first XI selection and a slew of injuries as they juggle to come up with a team for this evening's entertainment.

Dwight McNeil is still unavailable, Garner and Iroegbunam are closer to returning but also unavailable, and Chermiti also misses this one. Calvert-Lewin has an ankle issue and does not make it, so Broja may start if he has fully recovered from jarring his knee when kicking the turf as he tried to score against The Cherries on Saturday.

And there are quite a few changes: No Pickford, No Tarkowski, No Calvert-Lewin, three centre-backs, Armstong and Beto starting… but still two goalkeepers on the bench, of only 8 players?

Both Youngs, father Ashley and son Tyler, on their respective subs benches, potentially the first time in FA Cup history if father and son get on the grass to play each other.

Muted applause for Baines and Coleman in the dugout before Beto kicked off — without the obligatory keeper punt!  Beto loosened up with an early shot that was straight at Bilokapic.

Plenty of Blues possession, as you'd expect, but very little pressing when they did lose the ball. And not a good sign that Virginia did soon resort to the long punt beyond Beto. Ndiaye went on a dribble that led nowhere.

Beto's judgement was lacking when he overhit what could have played in Armstrong. Ndiaye tried to curl one in from outside the area, but well off target as the Everton players tried to get used to playing patient possession football, but they were finding it hard work to get into the Posh penalty area.

A poor ball from Mangala invited the opposition forward until the transition, when Hayes had to take down Patterson. Armstrong played it in and it came to Managla for a shot that was dreadfully scuffed.

Gana tried a shot from too far out that saw a strange save from Bilokapic. From a decent Mykolenko cross, the cleared ball was volleyed well by Mangala, smacking the angle of the goal. Then Fernandez came close to putting it into his own net but Everton's resulting corner was poor.

Patterson found Beto close to goal but the big man just couldn't control the ball properly. Keane overhit a deep diagonal ball beyond Patterson. Really far too many weak mistakes from the Everton players in the first 30 minutes.

Patterson got in another cross but the Bkue shirts were outnumbered. Another forward pass was overhit and yet another misplaced by Beto. Patterson ran into Kyprianou. Armstrong fired a cross way too hard over everyone.

Patterson put in a much better cross but Beto was stuck behind Fernandez for a corner that again broke down and Posh were quick on the counter, Mylolenko having to block the shot from Jones. The resulting corner came through to Hayes who smashed it at goal and somehow it deflected off O'Brien then blocked by Branthwaite, very lucky it did not go in.

Beto almost got in on Bilokapic as he cleared the ball, but the visitors were not intimidated by their Premier League hosts. A lovely ball in from Branthwaite should have been buried by Beto but he headed it straight into Bilokapic's hands.

Ndiaye worked hard to get the ball forward but it was a beautiful pass from Armstrong that allowed Beto to pivot around Bilokapic and slot the ball into the net. Everton had scored!!!

Jones did very well to outpace Branthwaite and work his way wide before firing at Virginia to end the half.

Into the second halfHayes almost got around Patterson, winning a corner that Virginia tracked all the way, catching it well. Everton tried to get forward but they were regularly thwarted by the well-disciplined white shirts.

Great work by Patterson on a brilliant out ball from Armstrong saw him set up Gana who wellied it over the bar — he really should have scored. At the other end, Patterson heavily bodychecked Hayes off the field, rather unnecessarily, gifting a corner that was cleared.

Armstrong was double-teamed and got a free-kick in the corner that Patterson swung in a little too deep. O'Brien tried the long diagonal but it was beyond Mykolenko. Patterson, Beto, and then Magala all put in poor crosses, the last winning a corner that Patterson overhit and O'Brien handballed.

A lengthy spell of possession for Peterborough saw the ball finally find Dornelly in space and a quick strike would have had Everton in trouble. A really good Everton move down the left got almost all the way, Mykolenko with the error at the end of it.

A good ball into Beto had him doing all the arms and legs as he battled with Fernandez. From the resulting corner, Mangala's shot was deflected, with Beto and Armstrong getting subbed.

Mykolenko fed Ndiaye well but he was escorted to the line for a corner which Harrison drilled to Keane on the edge of the box, but he messed up the volley, at which point, Ashley Young replaced Patterson. Young put in a couple of crosses but no Everton players on the end of them.

Som brilliant ball work from Harrison before feeding Ndiaye who then lost his footing. There were still errors from a host of players that were making Everton's play look really poor as they struggled to both keep the visitors at bay and get forward.

Broja looked to take advantage of a rash charge by Bilokapic but instead he was landed awkwardly and did his ankle after a challenge as Everton played on with 10 men, Lindgren almost getting behind O'Brien and firing into the side netting.

Broja's injury looked very serious as he needed extended treatment (7 minutes) before being stretchered off all the way across to the far corner, and an ambulance trip to hospital, replaced by Doucoure, with 10 minutes added on.

But the bodies kept hitting the turf, Conn-Clarke next to feel the strain. Then Lindstrom as he tried to force a cross with Fernandez impeding him. And then Katongo wrestling Branthwaite to the ground for an obvious penalty. Iliman Ndiaye converted from the spot to seal the win.

Everton:  Virginia, Patterson (72' A Young), O'Brien, Keane, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Gana, Mangala (89'  Doucoure), Armstrong (68' Harrison), Ndiaye, Beto [Y:66'] (68' Broja (89' Lindstrøm)).

Subs not Used: Begovic, Leban, Butterfield.

Peterborough Utd: Bilokapic, Collins, Nevett (46' Wallin), Jones (46' Lindgren), Hayes, Kyprianou (64' De Havilland), Katongo, O'Brien-Brady (88' Mothersille), Dornelly (76' Odoh), Fernandez, Conn-Clarke.

Subs not Used: Blackmore, Sparkes, T Young, Ihionvien

The match is being streamed live on the BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport Website.

Decent line-up considering the opposition. Surprised by the timing of Dyche departure, not unexpected though apart from that. Grateful in many respects for his keeping us up first and last season, but this season showed the cracks were widening each game.

Think we should rest Ndiaye- cold night, old fashioned challenges to come……I worry about an accident waiting to happen.

8 of that team are either GK/Defence/Defensive Mids. If we score I'll show my arse on the steps of the Evertonia offices.

Good idea to play five at the back against a third tier team at home.
Russell Smith
7 Posted 09/01/2025 at 19:04:33
I think it will be 3 at the back with the full backs pushing further upfield to support Mangala, Gana and Harrison in midfield with Beto and Ndiaye playing centrally closer together. I also think we will defend 30 yds further up the field and press more from the front

Decent line-up. We should win this 4-0.
Jay Harris
11 Posted 09/01/2025 at 19:14:05
Russell that was my thought too.

I believe we will be on the front foot with a 3-4-3 which is a much more progressive system.

Where that will work in the prem with the players we have got I don’t know but let’s take one game at a time.

Ian Edwards

Derek/Phil

Not sure I agree it is a decent lineup. Four of the back five are calamity Jane's. Any one of them could score an own goal, concede a silly red or pen, or all three. Or maybe all four do all three. If Mason was still here instead of Branthwaite it would be a perfect nightmare back five.

Well, those calling for a 3-5-2 or a 5-3-2, or even a 5-3-1-1 have got their wish.

Interesting that Armstrong is in and Doucs out.

Plus Broja and Lindstrøm might just be making up numbers, as they were both reported as injured earlier.

Ian Edwards
16 Posted 09/01/2025 at 19:23:37
Not sure how it can be 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 when the only forward is Beto.

There are 2 recognised full backs. Three recognised Central Defenders. Two defensive mids. Two midfielders and one forward.

Ashley Roberts

Must be 5 at the back as Mykelenko is definitely no wing back.

Leighton, on radio, said team already picked before he knew he was taking over. I would never question Leighton but I struggle to accept that DinoD would have chosen that starting line up.

Surprised with the timing of the dismissal unless it means there is someone already lined up and ready to start or there has been a huge bust-up that meant Sean Dyche had to leave immediately.
A win would be huge but the manner is as important. Can’t see anyone putting 5 at the back for this match unless they want to lose the crowd immediately.
Anyone know how to get game on iPlayer? I’m just seeing the Blades v the Bluebirds.

O'Brien playing as left wingback? Someone stepping into midfield and Mangala pushing further forwards (I wouldn't class him as a standard defensive midfielder anyway)?

If we are guessing, then Peterborough boss must be as well.

Robert Tressell

I often think 5-2-2-1 describes this sort of formation best in terms of visualising players on the pitch.

Important thing is how high up the pitch the wing backs play. Hopefully they push right up.

Armstrong and Ndiaye should enjoy a bit of freedom too with plenty of cover behind them.

Well, to get up at 3:30AM to find the Manager sacked but still to go with the team he had named makes me wonder if something more has happened than we've been told, cross words perhaps but the timing is very strange and would seem to indicate that a replacement may have already been lined up.

Then the line up with three centre backs and two full backs, and two of the eight of an allowed nine on the bench being goalkeepers with our number one number one nowhere to be found.

We started pushing the ball around better than has been seen even allowing for the opposition without finding that telling final ball and until Armstrong's ball well put away by Beto the best chance had fallen to Peterboro'.

Neil Lawson

Mike 31. DinoD choice and for much of the time playing as if to his orders. I am confident that Leighton will now, at or soon after half time, change it. Mangala off, Armstrong into his place and Lindstrom on ? Or similar ?

A think quite a pertinent quote here; with a caveat, the players were still trained and coached by Dyche and Co. for this game.

Brian Clough, whilst reflecting on England's exit from Euro 2000.

"Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes."

Simon Harrison
35 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:29:21
The worrying thing is Paul, we're playing a L1 side, who are also way out of form too!

I would think it'll take a few training sessions to start forgetting Dyche's methods.

Armstrong, O'brien, and Virginia were the only positives.

It was always going to be more of the same.
The squad hasn't changed so what can you expect.

The interim guys used some bench warmers and it showed.

I thought Paterson and Armstrong did well but we only looked lively when Ndiaye was on the ball.

Still too may poor passes in the final third

Denis Richardson
38 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:51:44
Win is all that mattered.

Good that Armstrong, Patterson and O’Brian got a run out but we need to sign a couple of players this month.

Send Broja back, loan someone else from Chelsea for one.

10 days until Villa.

Shaun Parker
39 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:52:32
Another poor performance, but it’s a win. The players seem bereft of confidence and ideas.
Broja, let the lad get fit but send him back. We cannot be harbouring sick notes anymore.
Beto, first division player, ship him out.
Means we probably need a striker once again in the January transfer window.
Alan J Thompson
40 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:53:17
A lethargic second half that seemed to be dominated by injuries and substitutions until the late penalty. Job done I suppose but nothing shown by that which indicates much new although so little time for the "caretakers" to change much.

So, onto the topic that will focus attention.

Neil Lawson
41 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:53:50
Dyche gone. A win. Armstrong excellent. Patterson and O'Brien encouraging. But so many other aspects to be concerned about. Tomorrow is a new day. Let's all just try to be positive. Whoever the new manager is we need to embrace him ( or her) and give 100% support whatever our own thoughts may be about the choice.
Joe McMahon
42 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:57:11
To be fair Leighton abd Seamus haven't had a training session as such with the first team. It would take time, although work needs to be done on the final ball.

But is bloody Moyes again know, and we have to play Liverpool twice!

Ernie Baywood
43 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:58:03
About the only thing I took from that was Patterson's performance.

He'll make some mistakes but he's an all action type who can bring a bit of energy.

It's a trade off that we haven't previously been willing to accept. We'll see what happens next.

Game commentators speculating an Achilles for Broja. That's a full year. Too bad.
Mike Price
45 Posted 09/01/2025 at 21:58:56
The passing and control is so, so bad. The weight of pass and the angle the ball comes at you is not at a professional level. That was an embarrassing watch.

Overall, a positive day but a worrying one too.

Martin Mason
46 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:00:46
A 2-0 win, not fantastic but at least we played with some width. Remember that we are learning how to play football again and it will take time. We have a chance now at least. Thought that O'Brien played OK and Armstrong showed really good promise. 3 at the back and two defensive midfielders seems to give little creativity in midfield but. It doesn't matter anyway if Moyes comes back, I fear the very worst now.

48 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:05:28
Whoever the new manager is, it does look dead cert to be Moyes, we need to give him some kind of financial backing in this window.

The squad is constantly picking up injury after injury, the loss of Broja now as any kind of option means we can't afford to release Beto on loan also, which I believe was planned.

Mike Allison
49 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:06:22
We need someone to come in and create a psychological lift, get players enjoying being footballers again. It’s like Dyche spent two years coaching the football out of them and just telling them to track back and block.

The talk in BBC commentary of Moyes coming in was very worrying. That would not create the ‘feel-good factor’ that we need.

Alan J Thompson
50 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:10:39
Does anyone else wonder what VAR may have made of both the goals? Was Beto's outstreched arm offside and would it have taken five minutes to decide if it was a penalty?
Pat Kelly
51 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:15:38
With Broja ruled out, and DCL long since departed, we are down to Beto. Whoever replaces Dyche has his work cut out to save us.

52 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:16:40
No hoof ball, nice start for O'Brien, and a good game from Armstrong. Patterson good going forward but cannot cut out a cross. Mykolenko still a bag of nerves, Decent from everyone else. Still much too slow going forward - not enough time to shake off two years of Dyche coaching. A good day overall.

53 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:18:11
It matters not a jot whether or not the appointment pleases us. The immediate objective is to get this very dodgy squad playing well enough to avoid relegation. Our job is to stop moaning and support whoever gets the gig -if it's Moyes, so be it !

54 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:20:06
A win and we actually got to see 2 goals at Goodison that were not from the opposition. But the fact still remains whoever takes over as manager will still have to work with the same group of players unless we can get some decent deals over the line in this transfer window.
Baines and Coleman were just thrown in the deep end so it will be interesting to see who comes in if anybody.
Moyes had his chance and I don't see any different from him since he left, and have not seen other clubs break down doors to sign him, and I doubt if he will just take till the end of the season as manager

Ashley Roberts
58 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:45:06
If Broja is crocked we cannot afford to wait for him to recover. We need to send him back and then try to find another striker in the January window. We won’t get anybody decent on loan and so we will have to purchase someone who ever that might be. We also need a new left back and a right winger. Thelwall needs to pull his bloody finger out. Substituting Dyche for Moyes is also not the answer to our problems.
TFG need to be a little more forward thinking and imaginative than hiring Moyes as I think the tactics of the 2 are very similar. Without us being able to bring in a pedigree replacement I would sooner stick with Seamus and Baines.

Only Peterborough, but O’Brien, put in a very good performance considering he hasn’t really played football since May, and it did make me wonder why he hasn’t been used by Everton, this season.

Two players and a positive manager could really turn this team around and even make Goodison, a very happy place again, before she finally closes her doors for good.

But will we get them? Is the biggest question right now!

Don Alexander
60 Posted 09/01/2025 at 22:48:27
Moyes, now 61, has very recently said he doesn't want to manage a.n.other "struggling" club but he lives in Lytham St Annes, way less than an hour from the city of Liverpool!

And he's a Kenwright acolyte (I've recently met him and criticised Kenwright to his face, to which he told me "Do you not think Moshiri is the sole problem?!!") who will no doubt cite that he "gets" Everton, and all that to me means that he should never get past the paper-sift of applicants, if he's so minded.

Just back from the game, I’m a bit surprised by some of the comments on here.

While it wasn’t an exciting game, I was pleased that we tried to play joined up football, passing the ball 5-8 metres to each other, playing triangles, being patient.

It was unfortunate that when the final ball was played it often went to Beto who was awful, the ball just bounced off him. He took his goal well enough, although he looked offside to me (I haven’t seen any replays of it).

Armstrong has promise, although he played it rather safe. Patterson attacked aggressively but showed defensive flaws. Virginia looks very competent. Mangala looked more comfortable with the new style of play. O’Brien was steady.

Quite a few players were tired and getting cramp by the 80th minute; I guess there is a lot more work involved when you pass the ball progressively up the pitch and run into space, rather than stand and watch the ball go over your head.

I am full of trepidation.

352 is back (3 central defenders, FFS!).

Moyes might return.

More injuries.

Keep Armstrong in and play Patterson right midfield in a 451 and I would feel a bit better. Make 2 or 3 good signings and I would feel a bit better still.

But we won COYB!

I agree with your views on the game, the only issue I had was midway through the second-half, Peterborough started to make headway and threatened to equalise, but all in all it was a professional performance to make it through to the next round.

I can't remember a side taking to the pitch only hours after the manager had been sacked, so from that perspective it was a credit to the players that they managed to navigate what could have been a tricky tie, although Peterborough didn't provide a great test for Everton on the night.

Happy with a borefest considering the circumstances.
Proof there have been options in the squad far too underused?
Hoping Broja is just a bit of a wuss and the leg immobilisation was just precautionary.
The arm doesn’t count with offside does it?
Praying the next manager will be a step forwards and not a nostalgia driven relapse.

I can't remember a manager being sacked three hours before kickoff, but credit to Bainesy and Coleman, they stepped in and handled things.

We sign terrible strikers, but Beto, for that money is worse than Niasse and Tosun. Praying that Broja isn’t out long term and we’re forced to keep Beto. On Broja, he looks 20lbs overweight and that really isn’t helping and could be a factor in him getting injured.

Sean@73

Sean, there is no way Ipswich are taking Sean Dyche over McKenna and Southampton have just appointed a new Manager.

We won and in the hat for the next round so I’m happy, couldn’t make it to the game and too late to give my ticket to anyone so watched it on TV and was still worried and nervous that Peterborough, from the third division were going to take us to a replay and one player has me a bag of nerves throughout the game particularly when he is defending, maybe it’s just me, anyway we have ten days before we play again so we can relax ‘til we hear who the new manager is, I bleedin hope he hasn’t been here before!

I doubt that Dyche will coach another Premiership team. The whole football world now knows his limitations.

Well that’s 2 hours of our lives we will never get back, but the positives are we’re through and he’s gone, onwards and upwards

Come on dad get with it!
No replays in the 3rd round and we play again in six days!
Lay off the whacky.

Moyes > Steve Cooper The Odious. I became an Evertonian during the last 5 years of Moyes and I did really like most of that time, especially compared with the insanity post Martinez. The last two seasons of Moyes were fun! Is there a Fellaini 2.0 anywhere out there?! Crazy that Seamus was playing under Moyes and is still going! Seems sooo long ago. Moyes can do his thing here for 5 months, grind out more wins than Dyche seemed to be able to and get us ready for Bramley Moore. So says I! Egg puns for the WIN

Ed #78 - I think you'd be surprised. Dyche was pretty good at 'changing the story'. A quick look around the media today and it seems like plenty buy into his stories.

The commentator we got today was amazed we had sacked him. He rolled out the usual 'saved them ', 'worked miracles' stuff. Then considered that the players and supporters would be a bit flat as they all supported him.

Dyche will sell his low goals conceded, his xG (when it suited), the limitations of the squad he had. Basically he'll do what he always did - focus on the things that benefit him and blame others for everything else.

Moyes is divisive amongst the fan base which is concerning. If his coaching team included Baines and Coleman, would that give more confidence I wonder? The surprise sacking might have been a free game so to speak to gain some first team coaching experience quickly. I hope whatever happens we have better days than we’ve seen this season.

Why do so many want Evertonians to be part of the management/coaching set up? Can we just stop with this small time attitude and just get best in class.

None of the top teams or currently successful outfits like Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham, Newcastle or Villa operate like this. The whole, ‘they get the club’ thing is embarrassing and will just perpetuate the jobs for the boys, failure ethos that runs right through the club.

I,m with Peter Mills on this one, just got back from the game myself, what a refreshing change not seeing a ball hoofed up field, and Mykolenko and Patterson allowed to cross over the halfway line.

It was not the best of games, but it certainly was a lot better than the shite we have had to put up with.

I thought O,Brien was excellent, saying we only had Beto and Broja, I could not see how else we could set up for the game, Baines and Coleman barely 3 hours with the team did well.

The biggest two pluses, we are in the hat for the 4th round and Dyche finally gone.

Get the new manager in and a couple of players through the door and we should be alright, Garner and Iroegbunam close to a return a big plus.

Happy Days.

Tim (81), I thought Martinez showed where Moyes had (consistently) been going wrong but unfortunately he couldn’t reproduce what Moyes (consistently) did right.
He won’t sign on just to beat relegation this season so, as I don’t want him long-term, it’s a firm ‘no,thanks’ from me.
The last 2 years of dithering Davey just seemed like so many of his previous seasons and a big step down from where we have previously been.
Nil satis nisi optimum has to be the target all the time.

Mike Price@84, I agree.
There is nothing about the past 30 years of supporting this club that I want to revisit. Glad we have got new owners in, depressed at the prospect of them returning to a safe, dull appointment. The game has moved on, why can't we?

woke up a bit late this morning in NZ and missed the game and the sacking. My phone was chock full of notifications so I guessed that we had been beaten, Dyche was gone or Trump had somehow managed to invade Greenland:) Luckily it was just Dyche. Mixed feelings- gratitude for seeing us through two tough years and acceptance that he had clearly run his race with us. No idea who will come in next but hopefully we can get a bit of verve and vigour into the team again and start enjoying supporting the team again.

If TFG choose Moyes, then they are dividing the fan base within a month of taking over and will lose good will.

It will be a regressive move.

Ed #78, if Fat Sam can get nine jobs in 16 years amidst ugly football and multiple investigations, Dyche can have a long and fruitful career ahead of him.

Personally I will always consider last season to be one of the most inspirational managerial performances I have ever seen. With two point deductions, the entire English league structure stacked against us and a lame-ass roster including schlubs like Danjuma, Gomes, Godfrey and Holgate, Dyche not only pulled us to survival but did it with room to spare. And the RS left the league title at Goodison, a memory we can cherish forever.

He will be back in the league, maybe the next time somebody is in relegation trouble and needs a kick up the ass.

John #88, that's the worst idea I can imagine. There aren't two footballers I respect more than Bainesy and Seamus, but hundreds of millions of pounds are at stake and this is not a job for raw managerial rookies. Bainesy just got his pro licence a few months ago and has never managed a first team until today.

What we need most right now is an experienced manager with a solid record of success under tough circumstances.

(And no, I don't mean Moyes...)

Due to our decades long absolute fall from grace in attracting managers/coaches/players who DEMAND success on the pitch I can only see our next manager being of the same ilk; either an old, tarnished, play-it-safe-forever mundanity of a bloke, or a relatively young, unproven, bullshitting gob-shite a million miles away from being able to even converse with the many very limited players long since coining a fortune for fuck all on the pitch for us.

Did Brian Clough have a bastard son with Peter Taylor perchance?

Here's hoping!

Mike, I was closer than you on when Dyche would be fired.
Sam's teams played much better football Were you watching when he turned around Bolton Wanders with Jay-Jay Okocha and co? Dyche could not dream of coaching like that.

There are successful managers available right now - Sarri, Terzic and Allegri to name 3 off the top of my head.

Personally, I want Thomas Frank - I like his structure, planning and attention to detail. But, the timing of this announcement makes that very difficult.

Not impossible though. This is the Premier League and the main language is money.

Dyche is an out of date manager who has not adapted with the changing nature of football.
He gaslights the naive and uninformed football supporters that he is doing a good job. He’s not a terrible person, but anyone with any football nous knows his stubborn style of play is unsustainable; it slowly drains supporter and squad confidence and leads to inevitable relegation.
Yes, I do believe football is all about players. And managers.
It’s not one being more important than the other. It’s a combination.
A relationship. How do the players respond to him, and how much belief and encouragement does he give them.

If it was true that football was all about players, then why have a Coach? Trying to make them feel like they’re in the best position/mental space to perform IS the Manager’s job.
Players do improve under certain Coach’s; Kalvin Phillips would not have any England caps if it wasn’t for Marcelo Bielsa, and Jack Harrison would not be ‘playing’ in the Premier League (he actually looked quite good when he came on tonight…. L1 Posh, oh yeh)

Just so relieved that the garrulous bald fuck has gone, he should have gone in the Summer. Credit for the last day survival, obviously,.
I actually think the points deduction last season helped him focus in a strange way, it wasn’t a hindrance or something ‘really difficult to navigate’, without the points deduction, he would of taken us down(controversial opinion!).
But, shame on you for your fearful and cluelessly out of touch stubbornness that has made us one of the worst teams in the division this season.

Just so relieved he’s gone, thank Christ for that………..wait a minute who’s coming back in? Oh……….for FUCKS sake.

Ed, yes, you certainly were, although I'm not sure I was wrong about Friedkin's intentions. From the reports that have leaked out, it seems TFG had no intention of sacking Dyche immediately. Nobody plans to do that the morning of a game. Something appears to have gone very wrong in their conversations with him this week. We'll never know for sure.

As for Fat Sam, it has been a very, very long time since he coached attractive football. He left Bolton 18 years ago. Most of what he has put on the pitch since then has been butt ugly.

And if he can make a lucrative living in the Prem, so can Sean. He'll be back.

Our next manager will be decided in an interview scenario but, given the miserable state of the club for decades as trophy contenders, I'm hoping any viable, talented contender is willing to pose way more serious questions to Friedkin on the future of OUR club than Friedkin can ask of the contender.

That ain't Friedkin's fault by the way - no, the fault was implemented decades ago by the most bogus owner/chairman/share-holder in our otherwise proud club's history.
