Now derby day looms, the whole city is divided for the 215th time. I think Liverpool are still favourites and that suits us just fine, ?King Kenny? has to win if wants a shot at the job permanently. We have a solid back 4 in Neville, Distin, Heitinga and Baines. Neville allowing Seamus freedom to just run at the left back. But we have our left hand side to attack the inexperienced Kelly or the £18 million right back that can?t defend. With it looking like it could be Pienaar?s last game, I hope he will be looking to give us a wonderful 3 points at Anfield.
We had a fantastic result against Tottenham and a good confidence builder against Scunthorpe. The reports I heard is that Bilyaletdinov had a great game, surely this is a good sign with him getting confidence and gelling into the team.
Another one who is benefitting from a run of games is Jermaine Beckford, he is fitting well into the team and he makes Saha look better. Beckford makes runs so Saha has more time and we all know how good Saha can be when he has time and space on the ball. Just look at the facts, Everton play 4-5-1, Saha doesn?t score from February till we play 4-4-2 for the first time.
Beckford may not be firing on all cylinders but him being in the team is helping the balance of the team and he just needs that bit of luck in front of goal to get his confidence back. He needs a run of games which he is getting; he needs a supply of crosses and through balls to utilize his pace.
I really will be disappointed if we go 4-5-1 at Anfield, they are there for the taking and if we don?t go for it, Moyes will have bottled it. They are very weak defensively; they haven?t got much creative spark in midfield with the absence of Gerrard. Torres isn?t on form but he will need to be marked constantly, maybe get Heitinga to rattle him early on.
We are on the verge of completing a very sorely missed double win over Liverpool, we can do this, we are high in confidence, and we can?t let the atmosphere of the derby get to us. We're on the march?.
