Season › 2011-12 › News Everton set to sign Darron Gibson Michael Kenrick , 12 January, 202comments | Jump to most recent Man Utd midfielder fits limited Moyes budget Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson reportedly had a medical at Finch Farm this evening and is expected to officially sign tomorrow. The 24-year-old midfielder is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, where he has made just two appearances this season, despite their injury crisis. At a fee of believed to be £500k, potentially rising to £2M (to be confirmed), he clearly falls just within Moyes's limited budget for new players. Liverpool Echo journalist Greg O´Keefe broke the news on his Twitter account this evening, and believes that the deal will be concluded tomorrow. Gibson is out of favour at Old Trafford and has recently saw Sir Alex Ferguson opt to recall retired legend Paul Scholes to his first team squad ahead of him, effectively calling time on Gibsons career at the English Premier League champions.
