Jagielka aiming for Euro 2012

Phil Jagielka has insisted that his, and the club's, end of season form can catapult him into England's Euro 2012 squad.

The 29-year-old has been an essential part of the Toffees backline over the last five seasons, earning him 10 Three Lions caps along the way, and his side are currently enjoying an eight game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

This season the emergence of versatile young Manchester United stars Phil Jones and Chris Smalling has threatened to curtail his international career, but Jagielka believes that a good showing against Newcastle on the last day of the season could guarentee him a place on the plane to Poland and Ukraine.

?We've all got a lot to play for, whether it's the Euros or trying to get yourself in the team for next year,? he said.

?We do this most seasons, the latter part is our best bit of form but this season has an added extra [the European Championship]. There's not only myself trying to get in a Euro 2012 squad, there's quite a few players around me who want to keep their form up and push for their national team.?
