Season › 2011-12 › News Jelavic sets his sights on Europe Lyndon Lloyd , 23 May, 11comments | Jump to most recent 'I want to score even more goals next season' Having made a hugely successful transition to the English game, Nikica Jelavic is hoping to fire Everton into Europe next season. The Croatian striker believes that if David Moyes can keep the squad together and add a couple of players, the Blues can challenge for European qualification next season. ?Honestly, I think with this squad, we deserve a better place in the league than we managed this season. ?If we can keep the squad and add a few quality players, I think we can fight for Europe next season. ?Always my objective before a season is to score as many goals as possible and try to play in Europe. I think this team is good enough to be playing in Europe. Since I signed we've lost just two games in the Premier League. That's massive.? Jelavic, who scored 11 goals in just three months after joining from Rangers on transfer deadline day, is settling in for the long haul at Goodison. ?I signed a four-year deal and I don't think about going anywhere else,? he said. ?I want to become even better and I want to score even more goals next season." The 26 year-old's immediate challenge is for Croatia in Euro2012 next month but he's aware of the support he'll receive from Blues fans when he returns for the new season — Evertonians have, predictably, taken the free-scoring Jelavic to their hearts ?It means a lot to me. In just three-and-a-half months they already like me, so it's special. ?I try to score goals and obviously, fans, they like the goals. I'm so happy they have accepted me and hopefully next season I can continue with the goals. I'm confident. And that's my job — to try to score as many goals as I can.?
