Season › 2013-14 › News Martinez looking for one more addition Lyndon Lloyd , 22 August, 0comments | Jump to most recent Roberto Martinez has suggested that he is on the lookout for one more player to add to his squad before the transfer window closes on 2nd September. Speaking at a press conference today, the Everton boss was asked if he was hopeful of making further additions to the four players he has already drafted in since arriving from Wigan Athletic. "It's not about being hopeful, it's about working hard and trying to identify maybe one player if we could," the Spaniard replied. "But he has to be the right character to adapt to what we want to do at Everton. "It's not that we are desperate in terms of numbers - that is not the case. We've got good numbers in the squad but we need maybe to have a little bit of help in an area. "As I say, we will work extremely hard in that respect [to find someone]." It has been speculated elsewhere that Martinez is looking at bolstering central midfield, particularly given Darron Gibson's injury on the eve of the new season, and Gareth Barry has been mooted as a potential option on loan, although his comparatively astronomical wages could be a major stumbling block.
