Season › 2013-14 › News Alcaraz given a run-out in friendly Michael Kenrick , 26 November, 0comments | Jump to most recent Antolin Alcaraz played his first 45 minutes of football since the start of the season for a reserve side in a friendly against Sheffield Wednesday, along with Tony Hibbert and John Stones. A hamstring injury has sidelined him for almost four months but Manager Roberto Martinez is delighted the 31-year-old defender is in contention again as the Blues approach the hectic festive period without Leighton Baines. He told evertonfc.com: "We had a very good exercise on Monday, a friendly behind closed doors against Sheffield Wednesday. "Antolin played 45 minutes and showed no signs of not being fully fit, which is very pleasing. He has had a really difficult time and has been fighting strongly to help the team, and I don't think it will be too long until we see Antolin available and in a position where he can help in this heavy period." Tony Hibbert, who has also been fit again in the last month after a spell on the treatment table, was involved in the game whilst youngster John Stones took advantage of 45 minutes of action to build up his match fitness. Martinez added: "We have 10 games in six weeks so we need everyone ready and available. It was great to see the likes of Antolin, Tony Hibbert and John Stones showing that they are desperate to play." Quotes or other material sourced from EvertonFC.com About these ads © ToffeeWeb
