Season › 2013-14 › News Gerard Deulofeu set to return Michael Kenrick , 5 February, 0comments | Jump to most recent 'The fans will see a very different Gerard Deulofeu' Gerard Deulofeu is expected to return for Everton's trip to play Tottenham on Sunday after almost two-months out with a hamstring injury. The player on a season-long loan from Barcelona is raring to shine for the Blues between now and the end of the campaign, and will return an even better player according to Roberto Martinez. Deulofeu joins Seamus Coleman in the match squad who is also expected to be fit enough to face Spurs. “Gerard is back from Spain, and is training too," Martinez said. "Obviously we will have to assess him to see how quickly we can get him match fit. From a medical point of view, he is fit and that's really positive and we have to make sure we give him the right doses of work. “He'll definitely come back stronger. He's excited about playing. He's been suffering away from Finch Farm watching the games. I can guarantee the fans they will see a very different Gerard Deulofeu and someone who is ready to be very important.” said the Everton manager. “He travelled over to watch the team in action in a couple of games, and he just really wants to help now. When you're a young man it's even harder being out injured and I can't wait to see him helping the team again. “Gerard already has an incredible experience under his belt. He's come back completely refreshed and desperate to play for Everton. “The good thing is now he comes back to an environment he knows well. In the summer he came into a club with only an idea of what he might find, but it surpassed his expectations. The fans welcomed him and they were delighted in the manner he performs and brings something unique.” Quotes or other material sourced from Liverpool Echo About these ads © ToffeeWeb
