MATCH POSTPONED

The Everton game against Crystal Palace this evening was called off at 7:10 pm on the advice of Merseyside Police who cite concerns over building damage in the area around Goodison Park and other safety concerns caused by hurricane-force winds sweeping the northwest.

The club's Director of Communications, Alan Myers, explained that Police advice was to call off the game because of tiles blowing of buildings in the vicinity of the stadium.

The late decision was purely down to Police advice after the club had done everything they could by way of monitoring conditions to ensure that the game could go ahead, and that the Crystal Palace fans on the way to the ground would get there in time.

A club statement states that all match and hospitality tickets for this fixture will be valid for the rearranged date which will be determined after discussions with the Premier League.

Everton: Howard; Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Coleman; Barry, McCarthy; Pienaar, Osman, McGeady; Naismith.
