That game versus Fulham was on a Wednesday afternoon and I think it is Everton’s lowest ever league attendance of just over 11,000.
I think Matt joined Blackburn Rovers along with Harry Leyland, a goalkeeper who also played in the FA Cup in the game when Whelan broke his leg.

Hey Rob, I love to hear about our ex-players that bring back fond memories not only of themselves but also the experiences of being an Evertonian in the old days.
I recognize most of the players in the team photo but not a particular bloke who seems to be a player who I really should know.
He is sitting alongside Davy Hickson's right shoulder, any clues?

Great stuff, Rob. Those were the days, quote, "Woods could not help himself but he put his hands to his head to express his disappointment." Can't beat over-enthusiastic reporting, can you? :)

The fella next to Peter Farrell (I think) didn’t look like he had too long in this Vale of Tears.
