Season › 2014-15 › News Elche chief denies Sanchez deal Lyndon Lloyd , 11 July, 18comments | Jump to most recent The president of Elche CF, José Sepulcre Coves, has quashed reports in the Spanish press that a deal has been agreed with Everton for Colombian international, Carlos Sanchez. Claims were made in local Elche media and then by Futbol Mercado on Twitter that the Blues had concluded a £1.5m transfer for the 28 year-old but in a statement attributed to Sepulcre, the Spanish club's president said: "We have no knowledge of any offer from Everton by Carlos Sanchez." Disclaimer Bertie Alloff 1 Posted 11/07/2014 at 13:36:35 Unbelievable James Marshall 2 Posted 11/07/2014 at 13:40:10 Believable. John Crawley 3 Posted 11/07/2014 at 13:41:58 No surprise Greg O'Keffe quashed this rumour the other day saying Everton had no interest. Jim Potter 4 Posted 11/07/2014 at 13:45:01 Personally I never believe the local Elche media. Neil Bowman 5 Posted 11/07/2014 at 14:09:56 If Sepulcre's involved then this one is probably dead and buried. Shane Corcoran 7 Posted 11/07/2014 at 14:32:28 I'm choosing to not believe this report and to believe the report that he's on the way. Dermot O'Brien 8 Posted 11/07/2014 at 14:40:56 Haha Neil. Yes this is very grave news. Trevor Lynes 9 Posted 11/07/2014 at 15:58:56 El Gordo! Lee Mandaracas 10 Posted 11/07/2014 at 16:29:31 Some very cryptic references on this thread..... Kris Boner 11 Posted 11/07/2014 at 16:42:12 I love each and every one of you on this thread. In ToffeeWeb We trust. Brian Hill 12 Posted 11/07/2014 at 16:55:40 Why should Mr Sepulcre know anything? After all, he is only the President......... Colin Glassar 13 Posted 11/07/2014 at 18:26:21 Very clever pun Neil. Sepulcre isn't a fan of free theatre tickets by all accounts. Ant Dwyer 14 Posted 12/07/2014 at 08:27:48 If you refer back to the original page where it is claimed we had already signed this lad, plus the page about the young Bosnian, you will see I had clearly written 'do not believe ANYTHING about EFC until you see the player on a picture in a room with Bob and a scarf' With EFC, it's never an easy or a sure thing. Christopher Kelly 15 Posted 13/07/2014 at 00:08:59 I think we ALL agree to that point Ant. If you want to take credit for that ... then great! :) Christopher Kelly 16 Posted 13/07/2014 at 00:21:12 Is there any team out there that has more shenanigans when it comes to transfers? Does this happen to any other team even half as much?? Not just paper rubbish, but players with "done deals" or in for medicals getting turned away? Really makes me sick about Everton... Yet again we the fans get played for the fools. Darryl Ritchie 17 Posted 13/07/2014 at 02:11:19 CK16 Until the player is in Royal Blue shirt, standing beside Roberto getting his picture taken, don't believe anything anyone reports. The rest is interesting but not to be taken too seriously. Chad Schofield 18 Posted 13/07/2014 at 06:03:42 Well I'm no doubting Peter, so I fully expect the resurrection of this story tomorrow and the rock to be moving. Darryl Ritchie 19 Posted 13/07/2014 at 07:59:27 Jesus! I'm outa here!!
