Blackpool currently have a squad of 8 professionals having offloaded better players than Vellios.Liverpool pay far more for players and, Suarez apart, have tended to lose money on most of them. Vellios and Heitinga both left on frees this year and if we had had the brains to sell when they were sort of hot we could and should have been looking at 㾶/15m. Vellios had a few Premier League goals to his name and at a young age 3/5 prem goals would fetch ١/5m of any bottom 10 clubÂ’s money. Johnny after the World Cup would have fetched ٦/10m. Instead we receive nothing. Gosling is another one; again, heÂ’s flopped but when he was hot he had to be worth ١/4m. IÂ’m sure thereÂ’s many many more but I will last but not least mention our World Cup winner, German defender Mustafi. Again free transfer now linked with a 㾶m move to Inter. IÂ’d say thatÂ’s a fair point proven. Then thereÂ’s the likes of Spearing, one of many garbage players the RS get millions for. Heitinga had 6 months left on his contract and we were paying him 㿞 grand a week to watch the match on Sky when the money could be better used for Other Operating Costs. GoslingÂ’s contract had expired so we couldnÂ’t have gotten money for him and Mustafi was an unknown academy player.
