Seven members of Everton's Academy Under-18 League-winning side of last season have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

Goalkeeper Russell Griffiths, 18, defenders Jonjoe Kenny, 17, Curtis Langton and Gethin Jones (both 18), midfielders Joe Williams and Harry Charsley and forward Calum Dyson (all 17) have all signed deals as they look to eventually make the breakthrough into Martinez's first-team squad.

Roberto's scouting system is even more extensive than we thought!! With names like JonJoe, Calum and Gethin.......I mean these guys must be from like Surinam or Djibouti or Canada. I'd really like for Everton to have a Canadian.

Congratulations on signing your first professional contract boys, but it’s not a fallacy that the hard work starts now. Best of luck and I hope that you all make a living out of the game, I sincerely hope that you all make it with Everton FC!

If ever there was a time to be a kid coming through at Everton, it really is now because it’s great to have a man who understands in front of you, GOOD LUCK!
